šŸˆ Fall Camp, 2025: News, notes, observations : 'Meat Church' cooks BBQ for the Tide.

Command. Love to hear it.
There was a lot of good on good yesterday. A pretty hefty pass rush hitting Ty as well (even though they were in shorts, etc.)

He mentioned how the RB's are looking up at Jam and how physical he's becoming. He's still not elusive / can't 'juke' his way out of a box that we've seen. Washington making some noise, along with Hill this summer ... still not too worried.

Good hearing about Formby...been hearing he's been working and Grubb seems to indicate he's "growing a pair."

I still think it is Dewberry. Everything is pointing to him. I'd like to see VanDeMark.

I've liked what I've seen from abduall Sanders so far. Guy seemingly is already mechanically sound, no false steps, always seems to have good hand placement whenever doing his stacking & shedding drills, seems to know the coverages well and knows where his landmarks are when he drops into coverage, overall has looked solid. I think this guy could develop into a true Mike backer and be that leader on the defense in a few years. Excited to see him progress more.

QB Reese was with that group today: Lawson, Jefferson, Hill-Green, and then Reese in that rotation / drills.

Rodney Orr said that Proctor looks to be in the best shape he has been since he stepped on campus as a freshman. Said he didn’t know what his weight was, but he said that they all ā€œlook good on the hoofā€!

Love these drills. Only thing I wish we would do periodically(and they may, I just haven't seen it) is use one of those tents to get into a better habit of keeping a low pad level throughout the whole play. I didn't really see that problem in this clip, and that's really good to see. Everyone in the clip had solid mechanics throughout this drill, read stepping without false stepping, working downhill while keeping their hips and shoulders squared while taking on the block, hand placement was great, shot their hands violently inside the chest, shed it off and took an angle downhill to cut off that space for the ball carrier.

Really the only thing I saw wrong was 41 not using his lower body to generate power on one of his reps, someone will catch that and it'll get corrected. That's really it, all these guys had fantastic reps. Also, I love the physicality they displayed when stacking and shedding off their block. Especially Jefferson, every time I see a clip of him he's always going 100% every time. Fucking love it!
