The business model is eating away at the traditions of college athletics; the tradition on which college athletics are built. - Wes Durham.

While Nashville is hosting the SEC tournament this week, Athletic Directors from the 14 participating SEC schools will meet to discuss the 2013 football schedule and more.

What is at risk? The very foundation of what drives a lot of our passions for SEC football.

Could you live without facing Tennessee in late October? Sure, live. But, that third Saturday in October would be one spent thinking about what used to be.

Alabama versus Auburn on the chopping block? Is the SEC's longest rivalry, Georgia versus Auburn, about to be an annual game of the past?

I know that I am in the minority, but I'd like to see us go to 9 conference games. It would do away with the Georgia State matchups. What the BCS decides to do would have an impact on that as well.

so, just read two tweet's via Dave Matter (Columbia Daily Tribune Mizzou beat writer)

Gary Pinkel today said SEC coaches voted unanimoulsy last week on issue of 8 or 9-game conf schedule, agreed to not disclose vote ... (more)

Pinkel: "It's a very difficult league. When you go to the 9th game, you're pretty much knocking one of your teams out of a bowl game"

unanimously....I can't see all voting 9. As I've read that some are worried that going 9 will reduce the number of SEC schools in bowl games.

Coach Saban was quoted today as saying he wouldn't be opposed to a 9 game SEC schedule. He said if we did though it would likely mean the end of us taking games against big time out of conference schools. That would be unfortunate because I've enjoyed playing Clemson and VT and look forward to the Michigan game.

**22 SEC Titles** **14 National Titles**
ROLL TIDE!

Unfortunately that is not the OOC games they are planning to drop. Try Clemson, VT, PSU, and Michigan.

So do I.

I've finished my piece on the weakest OOC schedules in the SEC this year...just haven't put the final touches on it. Some of the schedules would still be W.E.A.K. even if they played nine conference games this season.
