🏈 Explosive plays?

All we heard this summer was creating more explosive plays. For 3 weeks in a row your running game has been stuffed. We got lucky with turnovers in the Florida game. We have man coverage most of the game on our WR's and we still can't throw anything but bubble screens and out routes to them. Why no fly patterns or deep post patterns? :headscratch: Our offense looks average at best and this is a year when we all thought it was a dynamic offense with all these playmakers. Something has to change or we can forget about getting past LSU or Auburn maybe even Miss St.

This offense has gotten ugly to watch. :swear: A defense could just play man and bring the safties up in the box and they could beat us every game.

last year our slump came with the passing game our running game still worked. This year our running game hass stalled out and our passing just isn't enough for above average teams.

It all starts up front but the play calling is so predictable. I would like to see both Ingram and Richardson both in the backfield more. Also the play fakes are poorly done. They do not fool anybody.

You know, I have a few problems with our OC in regards to that, In every game it seems like he attempts to do just enough to avoid getting fired. Every play, apart from one or two he runs per game, he calls for something that is very basic, relying on our superior stock of talent to be able to properly execute it regardless of the fact that everyone knows its coming and it isnt as though all of our opponents are cupcakes.

Its been like that for the last three seasons here, and after the BCS championship game, where our off. floundered in the second half(and oline) I kinda hoped the rumors of our OC leaving were true.

The statement that is coming to mind when I see our offense or maybe in particular is:

Familiarity breeds contempt

The process that our offense goes through during a game is becoming plain old frustrating. We start moving, their defense adjusts & then we hit a wall. There are various reasons for this but it all comes down to our offensive line, IMHO.

However, this team has lost 3 games under the McElwain's tenure, two of which finished #1 & #2 at the end of the season. Although it could be reasonably debated that those wins has had more to do with the defensive performances than that offensive prowess...I'm willing to follow this guys lead for a while.

But, BUUUUTTTT... when was the last time that it was determined in the course of a game that the team MUST be carried by the offense and that team won? It should have been last week but it didn't; the farthest back I can think is the win against Arkansas in 2007, with that game winning drive (I didn't count the Iron Bowl last year b/c the defense did make some pivotal stops & b/c AU only had one multiplay scoring drive).

You guys can flame me all you want but until Greg McElroy can get the ball to a receiver while he is coming into an open window we will have NO rythm in the passing game. Every time our receivers catch the ball it is after they have been open for a second or two and the defense is reacting to them. Receivers dont want to battle with defensive backs for every catch they make. Sometimes it has to be done BUT an in rythm throw allows the receiver to continue to the open seam in the defense. I wouldnt want to catch a ball from McElroy if I knew he was going to lead me into a waiting (and salivating) defender every play. Greg has a great grasp of what our offense should do in any given situation but he is not decisive enough at executing the throws that his mind reads. He is waiting the extra second to allow a receiver to BE open instead of throwing the ball to a receiver coming open.

This seperates the average from good QB's. Rewatch our last few games with an eye to how slow Greg decides to throw and you tell me what you think.

Judging by the body language that I see on TV I wonder if he is losing the offense?
