Has the 9 game conference schedule been confirmed somewhere? Otherwise, we are missing a non-conference game somewhere in here.

No. It hasn't.

What's missing was the word "almost." It was nothing more than me doing more than one thing and I didn't bother to double-check what I had written...got caught up looking at dates on the 2014 calendar and thinking about the 3rd Sat. in Oct.

I hope there are 7 more to be added to the last two, and none to the first three.

Agreed.

I'm wondering if they wait until after the spring meetings in 2014 before announcing the last game. That's under the assumption there isn't a move towards a nine-game conference schedule next spring.

From what I'm seeing, I think the AD's feel it's just around the corner—the nine game schedule. One big reason for that suspicion is seeing Hyman and Long make the agreement for the Uark v A&M game to be held in Arlington for the next several years. IF we don't move to a nine game schedule, that means those two teams are only going to host three conference games at home every other year.

Unless both teams have plans to have a home and home with a marquee opponent, and host one of those teams during their three conference home game years, it certainly won't help their recruiting efforts. Both teams need as much help as they can get in recruiting: UArk needs it desperately if they intend on contending for the West.

Funny you mention this, the Aggie at work last week said that Jerry wouldn't let them outta their contract, which seemed a little homerish to me. Everything I've read suggests they make more money going to Jerry World than then do playing at home ($4m vs $3.5m home game).
