🏈 ESPN's College GameDay headed to Arlington for Alabama-Michigan season opener

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- ESPN's College GameDay will be live on the scene outside Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for Alabama's season opener against Michigan.

The three-hour show, which airs Saturday from 8-11 a.m. CT, was in the same vicinity as the Crimson Tide on three occasions last season. It came to Tuscaloosa for the Nov. 5 showdown with LSU and was also on the scene for the Iron Bowl in Auburn and in New Orleans for the BCS national championship game.

GameDay opened the season outside Cowboys Stadium last year, too, when LSU and Oregon played in the third annual Cowboys Classic.

This installment marks the 23rd time Alabama has been playing at the show's location. Fourteen of the 23 have come since Nick Saban arrived in 2007.

The usual suspects will be with the show for its 26th season: Host Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, David Pollack, Tom Rinaldi and others

No need to look, you can take my word for this.

After Gameday concludes, there isn't a damn thing to watch until 7PM.

Maybe Iowa vs Penn State but that would require keeping the volume on mute.

You overlooked Austin Peay @ Western Kentucky baby! :twothumbs:

I caught a segment on Sportsnation this afternoon talking about the best running back corps in the ACC. Up for their fan voting happened to be Virginia. Which started me thinking...if they do have a good running back corps, and Sims takes over their starting role, that's a game I could pass some time watching.

They play Marshall in the mid-afternoon game. I think I saw it was to be televised on the U.

If you have ESPN3, Jax State @ Arkansas has "Interesting" written all over it. I don't know that I will duplicate the upset prediction I made for JSU over Ole Miss (nailed it), but it could be interesting. JSU should have the best offense they have had since Jack Crowe has been there. The defense was bad last year, and they lack depth this season - but they were in the first season with a new DC last year, and improved toward the end of the year. Arkansas had a really turbulent off-season and the "overlook" factor is high. The JSU offense is very diverse, with Coty Blanchard being an outstanding option QB and decent downfield passer - while Marquez Ivory is an SEC caliber downfield passer and decent option QB. At RB they have Ealey - formerly of UGA. I really hope I can figure out a way to watch the game.

Barring one of Crowe's mental meltdowns, JSU could keep it closer than Arkansas fans will like. JSU is taking the Marching Southerners to Fayettenam as well. They are marching over 400 this year.

The projected opening line for that game is Arkansas -36. That I do find interesting because of some of the things you've mentioned.

I wonder what the over/under is on people contracting West Nile while standing outside of the Gameday set supporting their team. I'm going and I'm seriously trying to figure out a good way to root for Bama and be safe. Maybe just some deet...
