šŸ’¬ ESPN Layoffs: Tebow has contract extended by ESPN

Geez. Sara laid off the day she returns from maternity leave. I guess timing is something we can also put in the list of things ESPN sorely needs.

Sara Walsh says she’s part of ESPN layoffs after maternity leave

Hole up!

They lay HER off while keeping fugly-ass DimBitch?

Heather only bashes Bama and tries to make the CFP Committee dramatic. ALL she does is report on the CFP. My 8-yr-old daughter knows more football than that bitch does. How is SHE more valuable?

And remember Larry Scott gave all their internal folks big titles along with big salaries because they are a media company...laughing hard.

That $305 Million number can't be right.
I don't know...think about how bad their business model is for the number of channels. We got into this about three years ago, right?

I caught some tweet about the ACC network launching but not called the ACC network. ESPN8, or something. Didn't bother to click.

Pac 12 is the sole owner of its network and probably is still their own worst enemy. In the past, they've tried to no avail to secure deals with Direct TV and Charter and that's obviously biting into revenue earnings. Having Fox and ESPN doing your bidding and having expanded carriage agreements ain't all that bad. It certainly explains why the ACC wants now to buddy up with the SEC and join the money making machine that is ESPN.

ESPN signs Tim Tebow to multi-year contract extension

ESPN announced on Monday that Tim Tebow has signed a multi-year contract extension with the network "to continue as a college football analyst on the SEC Network's traveling pre-game show SEC Nation." The news comes less than two weeks after ESPN laid off dozens of front-facing employees, including industry-leading reporters such as Ed Werder and Brett McMurphy, in an effort to cut costs. As such, extending Tebow is a clear indication of how much the network values him as a broadcaster.

Tebow is currently playing baseball for the New York Mets' single-A affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. The release from ESPN says his "role with ESPN will not preclude him from continuing to pursue professional baseball opportunities." The Columbia Fireflies' regular season runs through Sept. 4. If Tebow were to remain with the team, that would cause him to miss the first weekend of the college football season, though there's no guarantee that Tebow isn't promoted through the Mets' farm system between now and then.

ā€œTim brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his analysis of college football and surprised many fans with his strong opinions and engaging presence on SEC Nation,ā€ said Stephanie Druley, ESPN senior vice president, event and studio production. ā€œHis unique experiences within the SEC and his broad national fan base are huge assets to SEC Nation and ESPN’s larger CFP coverage.ā€

Jason Whitlock, one of the more divisive guys in sports media, says "his schtick" is what is hurting ESPN. OK, not really. But, it was his schtick when he was employed then, and in his other gigs as well.

ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike" are going their separate ways.

The network announced Tuesday that Mike Greenberg would be leaving the longtime morning radio show he co-hosts with Mike Golic to host a new morning TV show on ESPN TV that will premier Jan. 1. Golic will stay in the morning radio spot and will be joined by a new partner in the network's NFL host Trey Wingo. The radio show will be simulcast on television.

Greenberg and Golic have been teamed since 2000. The show will end later this year.

Greenberg says his "run with Golic has been an incredible experience," but he's looking forward to a new challenge.

The network also says Golic and Wingo have multiyear extensions to stay with ESPN.

Regardless of the issue, people are sheep. Unless they're in a herd, following the herd mentality, they are pretty much cowards at standing up on principle. Even some of the best minds stubbornly adhere to cultural, political, domestic, social and secular propaganda.
