861 as always(As I have charter as well)...we watched the first half of the high powered barn attack(3 offensive points) last week on it. LOL.

Glad you told them no on the GamePlan because there's a clause that says you can't cancel once the season starts. Now that's through DirecTV and not Charter, but before I confirmed my GamePlan subscription, I had to agree to that. Obviously, being in the land of the pigs, I happily agreed. I'm sick of watching AR and OU all the time!!!

Right, that is exactly the kind of catch I was worried about. Thanks, AllieBama.

I work for DTV. If you are in the state of Alabama you MUST buy the game by itself for the $20+. Even with GamePlan if you are in the state of Alabama you will be blacked out. NCAA owns the rights to the game, they ALWAYS black out the area that is considered a team's local market.

Save your money on GamePlan and just get the few PPV games that are left if all you want is Bama

Well I'm across the state line in Mississippi, so I never have a problem getting the Bama game on DirecTV ESPN Gameplan.

And I wonder why that blackout rule doesn't apply here. Though I don't watch them, both Ole Miss and Mississippi State appear regularly on our Gameplan lineup as does LSU, which is actually closer to us than either two of the Mississippi schools.

Btw, here is the ESPN Gameplan schedule for the next two weeks on DirecTV:

well, sorry-a$$ comcast wants $39.95 for the tulane game, which would probably be the only PPV game i would be interested in.

but that is too steep considering the shoddy "Jr. High School A/V club" type production that has sadly been the norm of the last few seasons on PPV.

will just have to listen to Eli and the boys and wait for the replay on CSS later on

Dangit! They are not going to switch over to the Bama game until the Oklahoma-Cincy game is completed.

32-point lead and the clock is stopped with 22 seconds left. Gimme a break!

Thanks to everyone for helping. Here is what Charter told me while I was ordering the game.

It was on ESPN Gameplan and I would have to order Gameplan for 20 something dollars a month and have it added to my already pretty large package that I pay 128.00 dollars a month for. She said it wasn't on PPV, but only on Gameplan.

I balked at that. You know, I wasn't so sure about that because I don't know if there are that many games that I would be interested in seeing every week for an extra 20 something a month. Not only that, the games I really, really care about, I go to.

The Charter technician started on this long roll about how there were going to be 12 games on tomorrow on Gameplan and started to name off all of them. I stopped her and said that wasn't really necessary because I wasn't seriously considering adding Gameplan.

At that point she said, "you can order Gameplan and then the next day, after the game is over, call up and cancel it. Don't tell anyone I told you that".

And there you go. I didn't like the idea of that at all. You know, who knows how long it would take to get that monthly charge taken off my bill.

I said no thanks, I guess I just won't be able to watch it. I said, are you sure it isn't on PPV?

This is when she said, "hang on, let me check again". Well, sure enough, she came back and said that it actually was on PPV and I could get it for a charge of 24.95.

That is what I did. It's on channel 861 at 6:00pm.

Grrrr I had a similar situation except it was with Comcast. They wouldn't give it to me unless I ordered Gameplan. I told him I don't watch that many...I'm usually AT the games, so that would be ridiculous. I said, "Can I not just get the one game? I've done that in the past..." He said, "No, they changed things this year. You have to get the Gameplan." COMCAST SUCKS! Grrrrrrrrr. So I'm listening to it (which isn't really THAT bad. But I'd still rather be watching it). Oh well.

Just got off the phone with the charter rep. and she said that ESPN blocked it out in the state. Screw ESPN and the horse they rode in on. She said that ESPN wants us to get out and go to the game and I told her that you can only get so many people into a stadium. I am listening to it on the radio. It comes on tomorrow nite on channel 30 on charter at 7:00 I think.
