| MBB/WBB Episode Four: Tide Rising: Here's a look at the S&C program for Bama basketball

I've been on AT days for the guard. So I haven't been able to watch any of the press conferences or anything related. I do love that with the rise of the program, we're finally putting more content out for the program. You can see how hard the staff coaches these players. Toughness won't (shouldn't) be an issue.

Oats had a quote about Stevenson that was similar to how he hyped Clowney last season. To me, that is huge. If he has anywhere close to the impact Clowney had, we're looking at a team that finishes top 4 in the SEC and has a a 2-6 seeding in the NCAA tournament. But you also have to take quotes like that with a grain of salt from Oats, because he does hype his guys up in the preseason.

Regardless, I think we have a really good squad this upcoming season that the media is severely underestimating. Oats' system is elite and he has talent. It's going to be a dangerous squad.

Kris Parker is a wild card to me. Fell in the recruiting rankings, but has had a good preseason. Probably needs more work on not fouling, but is a decent ball handler and a good spot up shooter.

I do hope with Ryan Pannone on staff, we see more called designed plays. I love the freedom of the offense, but a lot of times, it turns into one player with the ball dribbling too much and four guys standing around. Other teams will go on runs for 3-4 minutes, but we can minimize their momentum with more called plays.

The Oats system will require the same things as always to be succesful. Elite defense. Required to withstand the poor shooting games and they will occur. There will be games they score 10-15 3's and probably win going away. Then there will be the 5 of 35 games that will be painful to watch and the D will be key.

Scrimmage but - 3 point and overall shooting percentage to low for the good guys and to high for the bad guys .. D will need to improve for this team to get where they want.

@Brandon Van de Graaff I don't think I've ever said "mark my words" on anything before. How long have we known each other?

But I'm stepping out here.

Parker is going to go off one game, maybe two.

#2. The wings are going to go off in a few games in this offense. You'll be laughing in your recliner, saying "wtf."

If I'm right, and based on what I'm hearing I am, Cal isn't the "coach" in the SEC next spring.

Damn. He isn't now.

I'm looking forward to seeing them play. I really like the way the schedule is laid out too from A-Z.

Also, I need to invest in a good recliner.
