Does any one know why Eli Gold was not at the celebration yesterday?
Just seemed odd that he was not involved.

Personally I don't care, but what kind of prior engagement would the voice of Alabama make knowing this was always a pretty good possibility? If it was a wedding, kudos for not doing it during the season atleast.

Possibly. I think I remember him saying on a broadcast once that he had a daughter in college here about 5-6 years ago.

there was also a couple trophies missing, as well.

i did not see the MacArthur Bowl trophy or the AP trophy. according to wikipedia (taken with a grain of salt, obviously) we were awarded both of those trophies.

(i wish they also still gave out the Grantland Rice trophy. i liked the look of that one.)

Lord I miss the crystal football. I know we still get it as the Amway Coaches Poll #1 but I miss seeing our boys hold it high with confetti raining down, instead of that gold monstrosity.

I got it hold one of them in Ireland and it gave me goosebumps.
