Julio's gameplan was highly predictable. I mean honestly, nothing new under the sun with player's contract squabbles. Frankly, it doesn't bother me that he got what he wanted in the least. More Josh subterfuge. Regurgitating the truth is always a worthwhile endeavor. So if Julio gets about 3 mil more this season than otherwise and in 2019 gets to renegotiate his contract so he's nowhere near the balance of his old contract, how is that not a raise for this season? The Falcons, in turn, get to save face. Afterall, they crowed loudly that they would not renegotiate Julio's contract this year. Frontloading existing money instead and then starting over next year isn't that hard to figure out. Why it's a raise, a raise I tell you.
