Has anyone else downloaded the demo & played it? Why is Bama not one of the teams you can pick? Usually the two teams that played in the BCS NC game are the teams you can choose from. After downloading this demo & playing it you would think Texas won the NC beating
UF with all the Texas crap in the demo & not one thing Bama related in it. What gives? :headscratch:

I think the reason they did is because of all the updating they did with BAMA in the game. They were talking about some of the changes in the game to do with Bama.

On a side note the demois pretty nice! I like the game changes the made thus far with this release.

Too bad you have to buy a gd Xbox Gold membership to do anything at all on Xbox live. What a ripoff of 60 bucks, that could be used to buy another game. I suppose I could just buy one month or something, do the download, and then move on....

No one is forcing you to buy anything. You can always wait until the game come out July 13th. I have played on the free play station network and xbox live. I would much rather pay the 49.99 a year to use xbox live than play for free on play station network because the play station network SUCKS!

Or you can pay $20.00 for 3 months like I do, much better than paying the 50 all at once...even though it's more in the end.

So I heard the same, that Bama had a lot of things that weren't done and couldn't be included in the demo. Oh well, I was still really pissed to not see the National Champions on the demo. That has to be a first...

You can download demos on XBox Live Silver. Gold is for playing online and the other stuff.

As far as the price its like $4.50 a month because you get 13 months when you buy the card. At least thats what I do. I buy the 12+1 card at gamestop.

Yeah, like RollTideinGA said, I'm pretty sure you don't have to actually have gold memebership to download demos or watch movies and such. All you need for that is of course a connection to the internet.

Ya know, it's nice that our team is fineally ggetting the respect the deserve from EA....but i mean what took them so long?
and Still NO COVER???? WTH?

I love the game but i'm a PC gamer. I despise consoles. I WISH they'd relase this for PC again. Not going to happen though. The sales don't justify the expense. :lance:

yeah, 60 bucks is just a large chunk of change to lay out all at once, especially when PS3 network is free (not as good, I know, as I used to be on PS3), and Nintendo Wii network is also free, and runs pretty well, though it offers virtually nothing but netflix.

I did try to download the demo and a gold is required, FYI. No biggie. I'll just get my rocks off playing '10 until the new version comes out.

Oh, and Bama has been on the cover of NCAA football before: Shaun Alexander got the cover for the 2001 version.

The deal with the cover is they can't use the image of a player still in college. Sure they could have thrown Ro on there and we'd all been happy. This of course was their last tip of the hat to Tearbow. No worries for me, that cover will be changed as soon as the game is in my hand! I've already got a couple of sweet pics of Ingram set up for a custom PS3 cover!

Shaun Alexander was on the cover for 2001. They dissed Ron Dayne that year because orginally it was always the Heisman winner.

They cant put any current players on the cover. I would hope when Ingram goes pro he will be on the cover the next year.

Also I used to play NCAA and Madden on the PC, but I prefer the console versions. That was the main reason I bought a 360.

I bought one version of the game on a PC, I think it was the 99 version with the guy from Michigan on it.

I hated it on PC. It was clunky, and it just didn't satisfy me with the smaller PC screen. Remember, this was 10 years ago and everything in the personal computer world was a lot different. Dial up was all anyone had for internet. The idea of having players names on the back of their jerseys in college football was a pipe dream.

Oh, and an update on downloading demos: I stand corrected. I WAS able to download the demo game to my machine last night. I didn't play it yet, but I presume it's pretty good. Still keeping myself satisfied with the '10 version, I'm just using my second string defense now instead of the 1st string.

I'm telling you guys right now: With guys like Mark Barron, BJ Scott, and Dontae Hightower, we are gonna be just fine on defense this year. Dareus and Square on the DL will be better than what we've had for a while. We are gonna be great on defense, and, well, AWESOME on offense. Special Teams? Meh....

Be careful I got burnt up on a message board for saying something about the team after mentioning a video game. Of course that was a Shula team...nevermind.

From PastaPadre, who was at E3:

PSN does not suck. It is not as fancy as XBox live, but it does not suck.
Paying for what should be a free service sucks.
Having to buy a wireless networking adapter sucks.
Complaining about any aspect of PSN is like complaining about your seats at Aday.

I have friends that prefer Live over PSN. I've heard that PSN isnt as dependable. But hey, thats second hand so I cannot say for sure.

Yes buying the wireless adapter sucked. And the Live, well its only $4.50 a month.

No problems with PSN here. From my experience it always works...it is not as fancy as Live. Its primary weakness v/s live is the social networking crap/buddy list management that I could not possibly care less about. The UI is not as pretty as Live, again I couldn't care less. If we want to play COD4 or Mod Warfare 2, or whatever game online, it is a matter of just doing it.

PSN facebook/social networking sucks...but then I have a computer and Samsung Moment Android phone. I don't want/need/care for facebook on my PS3.
The browser does work pretty well once you get the hang of window switching. It is cool for streaming youtube on TV.

Probably the biggest knock on PS3 has to do with cross platform releases. The PS3 is superior to the XBox in virtually every way, but the XBox is the development platform of choice. With few exceptions, cross platform releases are better or the same on Xbox. With platform specific releases, the PS3 is much better. A few games (such as Final Fantasy) are significantly better on the PS3 because of the storage media having so much more space and developers actually coding for the 6 core CPU.

Even on cross platform releases where the XBox is better, the margin is small...it is not a "blow you away" difference. When the Xbox was 1/2 the price of a PS3, it was a better system. Now, you get a PS3 slim for 299. It has the same HD as the XBox pro and includes wireless, making it $100 cheaper than the Xbox. Throw in the fact that the PSN is free and improving, and really it is a no-brainer which system to go with - at least it was for me when I was deciding which to buy for my son this past Christmas.
