🏈 Duron Carter to play for Bama this year (officially official)

Do Barry Sanders and Cris Carter have a close enough relationship for Duran's committment to impact Barry's committment?

St Thomas Aquinus. Isn't that the school in Miami than banned Coach Saban from recruiting on campus after he left the Dolphin's?

Do we know for certain that Duran "started" as a Freshman at OSU. I ask because his numbers that year seemed more in line with a rotation WR.

"People who know, chose Saban." Hall of Fame player Cris Carter sends his son. Hall of Fame player Barry Sanders is shopping Bama. NFL Head Coach Rex Ryan states that he wants his son to learn coaching at Bama. This is all within a two week span.

Include medical, it's four to play two. He might be a one and done.

One and done...as in "NFL as a Junior done"?

I have to tell you that what little amount of video that I have seen on him has not been stellar. I see great potential, but that implies time.

What is the best film to look at WRT to Duran?

I agree - definitely has talent, but I believe he is starting from near square one. He needs to do alot of developing.

There isn't much out there other than video from several years ago coming out of high school. At least, I have come across any clips. You see potential as a HS kid. Remember, he's been through two seasons of football.

One D1, one JUCO. He's old enough to enter the draft, has experience playing the position, and could easily have a break out year.

With his name, a good year, from our program considering the likelihood of a very good season...

That said, I imagine this next draft (next year) is probably going to be pretty wide receiver heavy. Heck, Arkansas loses its top three I believe.

A friend found this....

I actually posted what I think is a good clip earlier in this thread, HERE it is again. Of course, you may be saying "isn't much out there" b/c you've already seen this but I think this is a pretty good video with pictures in the start then a good three and a half minutes of highlight clips later on.

To me he seems more like AJ Green than Julio, but then again, you tell me which is better...

I like having a big target. I don't care if the kid runs a 4.6 or a 4.23. I want a kid that can catch the ball everytime it is thrown his direction. A speed burner doesn't do anyone any good if he can't catch or get open. A burner is only good for track. Duron knows how to get open and seems to run pretty crisp routes. I think he makes a great addition to our receiving corps.

Oh yeah, definitely, but did Julio "catch the ball every time it is thrown in his direction"? Did AJ Green?

No they didn't! My point is, that being a speed demon in football cleats doesn't do the team any good if he can't catch! I would rather have someone a little bit slower that can catch the ball when it is thrown. I once coached a kid that was a legit 4.37. He could fly! We tried to get him out in pass routes, screens, etc. anything to utilize his speed. We had to scratch those and use him strictly as a RB. We couldn't even use him in the return game. His hands were so bad, that we once had a guy catch a kickoff and hand him the ball to return.

Good pick up. He gives you a big targetnto fill in for Julio if the other frosh don't gel quickly. Hanks and Maze will benefit if this kid can step in and play.
