🌎 DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) Reports of moving the USPS under the Dept. of Commerce

Richard harrison (the old man from pawn stars) was actually in the doc. He passed a few years back. He claimed to have 2-3 million dollars worth of copper (from pennys) stashed away waiting for the day to hit the jackpot!!!
I've seen videos of folks getting roll after roll of coins looking for collectibles or silver, then re-roll and re-deposit. Copper wise, it's just a matter of how you want to spend your time.

I believe coins are about to be phased out…Then they will begin to phase out small bills… If you receive change, it will probably be forwarded to a bank account…The mint is a great cost liability…it cost more to make the individual pieces of money than it’s worth in most cases.. and most of the counterfeit money is in small bills to avoid federal charges..

A $1 Bill, counterfeit, is still federal. I don't get what you are thinking here
I don’t know about your state or not… but the Secret Service would never pick up a counterfeit case under $100 bills… so in Alabama there is a law called “change bill circulating” bills $20 or less… people knowingly pass a bill under $20 to get the change and buy small amounts of goods.. It’s only a misdemeanor in our state…

To anybody listening… Pay attention to every dollar bill you have!!… most of the small bills are the ones that are fake.. use your marking pen on all of them!… especially if you run a business or selling private merchandise..

It remains a felony offense no matter the denomination of the bill. Alabama law, as I've just read, calls possession of a forged instrument (even in the third degree) a class D felony.

The purpose of the thread about pennies is all about convenience. For example, the hospitality tax is two percent. Instead of $1.02 for the final total, charge .98 for the item and it's a buck.

I got into the bar business in the mid '00's and got out of it just a few years ago. In all of that time we saw one counterfeit bill. (He had dumb MF written across his forehead walking in the door.) On the other hand, a friend of mine that owned an ACE saw them enough; they always checked the $20's.

Yes.. but the USSS is a notoriously lazy or let’s just say busy bunch of guys… and they very rarely came on counterfeit cases ( which in all my years they came on 2 or 3)…Drug dealers refused most bills like $100 or $50.. but they did have a lot of change bills, during arrest… a that’s ONE COUNT PER BILL, and the total amounts usually never met USSS protocols… People never usually scrutinize ones fives or tens.. Some people “mark check” twenties a lot more..there’s no telling how many change bills are out there amongst us..
Forgery laws were hard to prosecute on a state level, because most people had no intent to knowingly pass the fake bills.. so usually they were confiscated and the cases closed..

Fifty million for condoms for Gaza. (Do the math on how many condoms, wholesale.)

I laugh a little; internally. A smirk more than a chuckle. Why am I not surprised?

I got to say this does make sense to me; to a degree. Why should anyone in the Middle East trust the West when it comes to pulling out?

Well @TerryP I really don't think the parents would like them being in kindergarten class?

I knew of its existence. Beyond that, nothing, really. Assumptions, yes.

Did I link the group with money being sent to places like Egypt? Yes. Did I think about how much money is sent, annually, all over the world? Yes, we've talked about that here.

Over the last few days seeing some of the things they've spent money on? Yeah, it definitely needs A LOT of oversight if it isn't just shut down. It seems like I'm just finishing the preface to this book...not sure what Ch. 1 will hold.

If it's stopping sending a bunch of people money before taking care of things at home...I'm reading Ch. 2.

I've said, "damn" a few times reading over some of the ways our money has been spent.

I'm laughing, partly in disbelief (but not really,) that they've been sending money to the BBC and Politico.

The more I see certain people cry re: the curtain being pulled back and the light of transparency being introduced, the more I want the entire thing razed. I don't even care all that much about the money, I'm sure the government will find other ways to waste that (saving any money is just a bonus). I just enjoy seeing these people have mental breakdowns over the whole ordeal.

And the little gaggle of computer nerds that Musk put together to head this up, like some Avenger's style whiz kid dream team cracks me up. They've pulled the rug out from some really bad and stupid people and their reactions to it have been nothing less than incredible.
