| FTBL Does Southern Miss really have a chance this weekend?

The first question is does Allbarn have enough talent at the QB and WR positions to make the passing game a sufficient threat to achieve either of those two goals. If so, they certainly have enough talent RBs to make the power ground game go.

I don't think they have the receivers on hand to make Franklin's attack work. Their receivers were pretty mediocre last year, and they didn't exactly sign a bunch of Julio's. As far as their QB situation, Todd can't make many plays with his feet. It remains to be seen if Burns can pass well in this offense.

And since that won't come into play this weekend it makes this game that much more interesting to watch.

I haven't a clue how they looked this weekend other than hearing their passing game was off. I did click and watch Ear's press conference. What a joke, he was actually defending the fact that they had a good running game. I watched thinking Saban found fault in one of our best played games in years and here this guy is saying his team actually played well, except a little trouble with the passing game but they will get that ironed out. Okay, I don't know if they will or won't by Saturday, but either way, I still think Auburn wins this one with a good defense and running game.

Also, I think much of their problems are being blown out of proportions because of Paul Finbaum jumping on this since he had little to use against Bama this week to stir the pot. It worked as usual.

But to answer your question, yes Southern Miss has a chance, so does Tulane. Anything can happen in a game.

If your a betting man take the points and S MISS they will stay within the 17 and win strught up IMO If rhey stop the barn from running the ball

AHHHHH another stupid thread about who is right about the spread...blah blah blah. Who cares about Franklin and his offense or Urban Myers...I guess, sadly, some of our fans do.

If USM is going to win, they need to make the barn EARN IT in the passing game. Rushing 4 and giving them pass interference penalties won't get it done.

if USM's receivers could actually catch the ball, AU would be in some trouble. USM's QB is actually doing a pretty good job for being a true freshman playing against an SEC defense. even with the turnover, i don't think its been a bad outing for him. look for USM to be really good towards the middle of the season and really good next season.
