🏈 Does Mississippi State have a better defense than Bama?

Bama's defense just started to come together against tennersee IMO. I watched the tape yesterday and did a lot of grinning. They lost the RB a few times but the tenn RBs are no joke. They are getting much more consistent pressure on the QB than I saw earlier in the year. The secondary was in position to make plays most of the time though they had a hard time covering #15. He is an exceptional receiver tho. I think they are going to make a lot of improvement in the 2nd half of the year.. particularly the front 7

Bama has 7 freshmen in the actual starting/playing time from the whistle on defense with only one of those a RS freshman.

It does appear that Nick and staff are now bringing a bit more pressure with 24 and 33 both in the game at the same time.

Wrong word here in my view Josey. Replace bringing with getting and we're on the same page.

When I was looking at pressure percentages two, two and a half weeks ago Bama was getting pressure on the QB a little under 40% of the time: without blitzing. (If I recall correctly, someone posted the percentages here.)

I see Jennings and Lewis benefiting from the line getting healthier and more importantly, gaining experience.

I guess we can right off Stephon Wynn as a playa since #91 is getting snaps while #90 is waving a towel these days.
Against Tennessee over half of the plays were in rabbit: nickel and dime. Musika is getting first team reps in rabbit formations (now backing up Barmore.) But, overall, there's no difference in the number of snaps this season. Wynn has 45, Musika 46.

It was mentioned a few weeks ago that the team was transitioning to more of a rabbit approach as the season has progressed. The dime rabbit is accounting for about 20% of the defensive snaps now. (right at half of the A&M game was in rabbits.)

Wynn is also a RFR who has been injured. Musika is a Sr. Wynn could get passed up by his contemporaries or new guys like Sophser or recruits like Jamil Burroughs or other recruits, but I wouldn't write his eulogy quite yet.
