I once had an incident with a student that literally hit me in the stomach and then went “limp dishrag” so he wouldn’t have to go to the office. I drug his little butt down the hallway all the way to the principals office. Principal told me to write it up and I did, including me dragging his butt down the hallway. Principal reads it and says, “rewrite it and leave out the part where you drug him down the hall! Instead, use “escorted” him down the hall!

I don't think most kids today could've survived the Catholic grammar school and high school I attended when I lived up north! Nuns in grammar school, Irish Christian Brothers in high school. Both were only too eager to dole out discipline with sticks, paddles, open hands and closed fists. Still, I wouldn't trade it for anything - excellent schools and excellent education.
