🏈 Did you know? This is the 138th time Bama has been ranked #1. All other SEC schools combined? 150.

Florida with it 41 more than likely didn't happen till after 1992?
First was in 1985. Second was 1994. UF wasn't that bad before then, they just weren't that good either. Their biggest hang up was UGA. The first 17 times they made it to the WLOCP still in contention for the SEC Championship, they were 0-17. One of those was the '85 game. They had finally made it to #1 in the AP Poll the previous week by beating 6th ranked Auburn. Lost to UGA the next week. They would not reach #1 again until '94. Ironically their seven weeks at #1 that year ended with a loss to 6th ranked Auburn.

Y'all remember the "Crabtree game?" Texas Tech upsets Texas in 2008? It was that loss that propelled Bama back to its #1 ranking—first time since the win over Miami in January of '93.

Here's what's crazy. When Bama made it to #1 again I started looking at how long it had been since the Tide had been this high during the regular season. As I recall, it seems like I had to go back to the 1980 season.
