🏈 Dee Hart and DeAndrew White out for the season.

Just heard it from Chase Goodbread on Twitter. Really hate it for these guys especially Hart. What he's had to go through since he's gotten here is terrible.

Yes, I do hate as well. I hope their rehabs go well. Hart had taken over the punt return duties and was doing a great job, and was running with an extra gear, fearless. White was establishing himself as the other killer connection with Cooper on the other side.

I hope Drake has a good off-week, nailing his assignments in practice and gets Saban's confidence to spell the other two guys while the issue is in doubt against Mizzou. We've lost two of our five scholarship RB's through game five. Could we see someone added to the RB's? Calloway?

RTR,

Tim

I hate it for them. Pretty much figured as much with Hart just from his reaction when it happened, you could tell he knew something was bad wrong.

Not trying to start something, but it looked to me like Ole Miss was going for the knees on a lot of plays!

Watch the replays...

Yeah you're reachin man, only time I saw anyone "go for the knees" was on cut blocks from their line... Dee hurt his knee in a freak thing, he went to cut back and it just got caught in the turf. DeAndrew hurt his blocking.

This def sucks, especially for Dee, I really hate it for him. 2 knee surgeries in 2 years for a guy that relies on speed and elusiveness. Man, I just dont know about that. I really hope both guys can come back fully tho.

I agree that we could see some new faces (this year) at RB. I think even Blake Sims could move back into that role if needed. Calloway is almost certain to get some sort of situational role there. If it were up to me I would try him on third downs? Blake Sims is quick a a gray squirrel.

Not talking about Hart or even White but watch the left side of Ole Miss's line 35 seconds in and then the right side of Ole Miss's Line 56 seconds into this youtube clip.

There are many more example that I can't show here...

I don't see a problem with either block. In the first, blocking a bigger rusher you can cut them. Also, going low will cause them to drop their hands to create a passing lane or prevent a batted pass. In the second, Perry beat the right tackle and he lunged to try to get to him, to no avail.

The idea that blocking below the waist is dirty is misguided.

I was afraid Dee's knee was gone again. It looked too loose when they tested it on the field. I hoped he was OK when he jogged off, I didn't think they'd let him jog if it was torn so I thought maybe I'd saw the anterior drawer test wrong. I hate it for the kid. It's a freak thing to blow the same one twice.

I look for it to be Brent, not Blake.

They don't want to take the shirt off of Alec and because of that if needed we're going to go with Blake at QB.

Crimson Crazy, take a look at TR blocking last year in the back field. He blow up lots of guys with the same move. Guys coming off the edge expect these moves. It's football and the only time it becomes an issue is when one of our own go down from it yet at the same time our guys and many others do the same. Its completely different to try and block in the back field versus being a DE or LB coming on a rush off the edge. The offensive block doesn't have as the leverage to work with so it takes different moves to counter the momentum of the rush.

Hate to see these two guys lost for the year but that is football. It is time for others wanting to play to step up and make a contribution. Blake Sims is a fine runner but with him being a backup QB, I am not sure CNS will make a move with him. Calloway played running back at Russellville High School and may be moved back into the running back spot. I am sure CNS had a plan b4 practice today, just anxious to see what will play out.

I hate it for both guys! Freak plays on both to be honest. Linemen are taught to "cut block" on quick passes to get a defenders hands down as stated earlier. Go back to the BCS Title game last year and watch D. Hanks block the Honey Bonger on a screen pass out to K. Bell. Blocks that have always been considered dirty and illegal are the ones that the Barn has been known for for years; the chop block. Going for a guys knees while he is engaged with another blocker up higher is the cheapest of cheap shots.

I'm concerned....

That depth we had a RB at the beginning of the year is gone - we are down to Lacy and two true freshmen - Yeldon/Drake.

I'm definitely glad Drake has been getting playing time early this year.
