I’d like to think that every kicker dreams about what Dayton’s William Will pulled off over the weekend.

The redshirt sophomore was kicking off for the Flyers during the second quarter against Marist on Saturday when returner Lawrence Dickens fumbled near the 30-yard line. Will then scooped up the loose ball and took it the distance for a touchdown.

The touchdown put Dayton up 28-14. The Flyers then went on to win 31-21 to improve to 4-1. For his efforts, Will was named the Pioneer Football League’s special teams player of the week.

Will, a native of Mokena Ill., made the team as a walk-on in 2012 when he redshirted. In 2013, Will earned the starting role and was named first team All-PFL after connecting on 10-of-12 field goal attempts. So far in 2014, Will has picked up where he left off in 2013, making 9-of-10 field goals with a long of 49 yards through five games.

Will will try to keep his great season going on Saturday against Morehead State.
