🏈 danielson on finebaum right now

I've seen some other boards where they really skewer Danielson. Seems some think if every word out of an announcer's mouth isn't high praise for Bama, then that guy hates Bama.

I actually like him and think he does a basically good job. Sure he makes some mistakes, but who doesn't? I think he's fair to both teams in his games, and I hope he does the LSU-Bama game.

Vern... well, that's different story. He just needs to retire imho.

I agree but then again I havent heard them do a Bama game live.

So, you're saying Alabama fans ARE in the wrong for being upset about that?

I'm just saying that Danielson and Verne suck at any game they do IMO. I don't look at it as they are against Bama or whoever (in reference to what was posted earlier by someone). I just see them as two DA's falling over each other. Danielson at least seems to know and understand the game but his tact is done in spite, as mentioned by others in previous threads. Verne on the otherhand is just a buffoon who can barely hold onto a mic with two hands.

Ya know, I don't think Verne or Gary are Alabama fans—in the true sense of the word.

So, that does make me wonder about one thing.

They broadcast 10 regular season games per year, 11 total counting the SECCG.

Out of those 10 games, how many weekends are they in Tuscaloosa? If you are counting, LSU will make five. In other words, half.

Two ways to look at that.

If I were them I'd probably want more variety in my job. On the other hand, if I were them, there's a lot of things I would make a mistake about simply due to the fact I had repeated it so often. Of course, if you repeat the wrong thing over and over again...

But, as it is...and as I've admitted repeatedly...the CBS crew doesn't bother me. I'm not paying attention to what they are saying 99% of the time.

Honestly, this weekend was the only time it elicited a reaction. One, on Danielson "helmet" statement. And two, on Verne's "excessive celebration" statement.

On a different note: Interesting we don't see anyone mentioning the national exposure our program is getting week after week after week...

Excellent point Terry! Which makes me wonder how the recruiting visit went Saturday. Off to the other board to find out...

Thanks Terry!

I listened to Danielson yesterday and thought he was sincere and man enough to admit his mistake. I think he gave a pretty good account of what was said and of his understanding of the rule. I didn't hear it live since I was inside the stadium losing my hearing after Cody's block. I heard the replay last night and got to hear all of the comments and hear and see just how much time went between the block and his comment on the penalty. Finebaum threw them together like they happened in a matter of 20 seconds where in real time a good 3-4 minutes went by.

Agree 100%, I usually am not even paying those 2 any attention except when I catch the horrendous name blunders Verne has EVERY week. We're on national TV damn near every week so there isn't alot we should complain about.
