TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Daniel Wright has been suspended from the team due to “a violation of team rules,” Nick Saban said during his Wednesday news conference. Wright, a sophomore, has been missing from practice this week. He did not play in Alabama’s game last week against Louisiana-Lafayette.

Wright served as a backup in Alabama’s first four games this season, tallying eight tackles and two pass breakups. He was replaced by Jared Mayden on Alabama’s second-team dime unit during Wednesday’s practice.

Kinda forgot about D. Wright... He and McKinney seemed neck & neck coming into last season. Hopefully just a minor issue, sure looks like D. Thompson will need a replacement next season!

Wasn't he the young buck that had a potential, serious, shoulder issue earlier this season and suddenly appeared in the next game? Wright was getting in the action a little more often and seemed to be holding his own. But lots of life lessons for our young grasshoppers.

He had a shoulder injury August 10th, Played in all 4 games leading up to last week's LlU game. (depending on the infraction, having only played in 4 games his has a redshirt available for this season...whether he stays or goes)

I believe he redshirted last season. I don't remember seeing him.
