MORGANTOWN--A rumor that Alabama coach and Marion County native Nick Saban was considering replacing Rich Rodriguez as West Virginia's new football coach is a fabrication, according to a press aide for Gov. Joe Manchin.

Media liaison Lara Ramsburg told West Virginia Sports Report Monday night that she was in the governor's office when a reporter from an Alabama newspaper called Manchin to investigate the story, and that Manchin, who, like Saban and Rodriguez is from Marion County, denied the possibility.

If y'all really want to be happy this holiday season, ignore the rumors, spike the egg nog, dress your significant other up in a Santa's little helper outfit, and rest assured that the affairs of the Alabama football program are in good hands and being well-taken care of.

What good is worrying about such rumors gonna do? If Saban goes, he goes. If he stays, then great.

Because it is just impossible for some people to NOT start/spread rumors. :)

Members,

This info is from a blog, its pure BS. Wait it out gang and enjoy the "Process".

We do appreciate you mods atleast letting us discuss it. The mods on Tidefans can't delete the topic fast enough.

funny thing is this actually crossed my mind earlier today that this might happen........kinda freaked me out when i actually saw it on the WV rivals site. But i think we are ok.

I love how these idiots forget that Sexton is like, superagent...agent to MANY coaches. I could see Spurrier, Bowden, Fischer interested before Saban.

WVU's next head coach:

Far Right.

Miami press was reporting this earlier too... Can someone let Saban's agent know about morally doing whatever is right by the client...

Here is an article talking about some prominent boosters' reactions to Rodriguez leaving. Looks like WVU is going to have to start sending out some fruit baskets to some VIP's here soon...

Wow. Looks like a wii-wii contest ensued. If the article's correct in that they haven't met certain terms of the contract, then it's true the buyout could be at risk, or at a minimum up for negotiation. If Mitchigann pays no buyout or agrees to a reduced amount, the sofa burning rank and file will again be in meltdown.

I don't know if it was in this article, or the one on ESPN, but one of them listed there were a number of *big-time boosters* that knew of the concessions and improvements that were promised RR last season. In fact, one of the articles mentioned a booster who planned (or looked to) testify against WVU. Another, pulling 12 million out in donations he had pledged.

I suspect two things. One, some heads will roll on this one...and the state Gov. will have a voice in who does. Two, they best make a good hire or even more of the fan base, as upset at they are now, will be even more upset. Heck, should I use the word livid?
