Strong on the surface, Alabama's offensive depth is questionable. Few would argue the Crimson Tide has plenty of offensive talent, but proven stars is another matter.
Four starters return to the offensive line, and running back Trent Richardson and wide receivers Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks are back.
Even quarterback AJ McCarron has some meaningful snaps beneath his belt. But neither McCarron nor Phillip Sims has started a college game, and running back Eddie Lacy has yet to show if he can supplement Richardson the way Richardson traded carries with Mark Ingram.
Backfield depth has suddenly become a concern, and it remains unclear what impact receiver Duron Carter will have when he ultimately enrolls. Still, Alabama has plenty of believers ready to thrust the Crimson Tide into the national title hunt.
