šŸˆ Comparing SEC fans: best and worst

the only fans i have been ready to fight in a second are lsu fans.

we went down to new orleans for the 'BAMA/lsu bcs game back in '12 (didn't actually GO to the game, but went just to be in the atmosphere and party). almost EVERY lsu fan we met was so damn cocky, arrogant, rude and inn you face screaming "tiger bait! tiger bait!"

i don't mind having a conversation about a team or a game, but don't get in my face screaming crap like that. that's a sure way to get my foot in your ass and for me to go jogging for an hour while it's in there.

all of this was about 5-6 hours before the game.

and every time they showed Coach Saban on the big screen during the game (we were at some pavilion with a crappy, pro-lsu band) they would hold up their middle finger to him.

it sure felt good to see that final of 21-0 and see them all pissed off and throwing crap at that screen. i never laughed so hard.

but one cool thing was we met the place kicker for the Saints while we were there. he was very nice and talked about how much he couldn't stand lsu fans because they were all arrogant as hell and thought they owned that town just like baton rouge. he also said he couldn't wait to see us beat the shit out of them.

i can tolerate just about any fan base because i know there are fans like those in just about every other fan base. but lsu fans are a breed all their own. and it seems as though there has been some cross-breeding going on for quite some time.

I can't stand LSU fans. I was in a restuarant one time and had one come right to our table and start screaming in my face "Tiger Bait, Tiger Bait" I was roughly 7 beers into a six pack, so I punched him and looked at him and calmly said "Roll Tide!" I didn't get to finish my steak, but it was overcooked.

The worse fans I've ever been around are Wyoming fans. I don't go to their games because I'd be arrested. When I was 16 I went to my first Wyoming game and I had grown ass men cussing me out, spitting near me, throwing beer at me. Hated it and haven't met many that I can stand

Who knew Wyoming actually had fans.

Damn, what the heck are they so hostile about??

Your guess is as good as mine. But, they're nasty. When they beat Tennessee it made them even more brazen and arrogant and much much worse.

When Alabama was playing Notre Dame for the NC I was in a store buying some grub for the game and I had several Wyoming folks come up to me talking crap and one dude even threatened to whip "inbred Alabama ass". Had a couple chant to me in the parking lot "F*** The Tide" for no apparent reason.

But, for the most part people up here don't need a reason to be hostile, rude, or want to fight. Bars are a no no.

Call me a pacifists... but all fan bases have good and bad. Your prejudices would only come from your exposures, bad experiences with the opponent. I'm a Bama grad and love the university but we have some horrible examples just like other schools. Painting with a big brush over fan bases is pretty ridiculous. When I was in school in the 80s, I saw a lot of pissed off Bama brethren. I have lots of close Auburn fans and some have the 'inferiority complex' because we pound it to them daily. I've had some bad experiences with many fans. The ones that get their butts kicked a lot tend to be viewed as good fanbases...go figure.
