🏈 Coach Saban draws up the @AlabamaFTBL defense on tonight's final play.

The play was there for aTm. If you watch the replay the aTm receiver was open when he broke back to the pylon. But the throw was late allowing Terrion to catch up cause the receiver must slow up to remain in the end zone.

If the QB would have turned it lose when the receiver faked inside , it would have been a TD.

IMO
Two reasons a throw can be late, one of course is the QB decision the other is timing is off because the WR cutoff his route to soon. I think in this caes it was the latter. I have heard some of the talking heads (McElroy) mention this also. It is likely the case because even if the WR catches the ball he is not in the end zone. No way that was the design. He needed to catch the ball in the end zone since this was the last play.

On the Pete Goldin comment, when he puts a D on the field that doesn't give up 20 points to a mediocre offense I will give him credit. I do know they have been the strength of the team but I am going to beat the drum until I am gone the other teams should not have 20 points even though all of you guys tell me this is a new day and in the era of RPO it is impossible to do although teams do it all the time.

If Goldin takes a defense to Knoxville that keeps the Viles in check (14-21 points) and I will come on here and praise old Pete.

I'll let Tennessee score 28 and still sing his praises for the first time.

How are you going to play soft when the game is on the line and at the two yard line??? That makes absolute zero freaking sense. Saban said himself the only thing that changed was their leverage. You call that chess? I call it a dumb play call and simply good athleticism by #3.
That's not what I said.

They were playing soft early in the game. They changed their leverage at the two yardine to play tight.

Omg... you are incredible...... always finding a way to argue with people on this site. You know you can like a post and keep it moving. Jesus!!!

No, you just think you're right all the time and always handing out thumbs down remarks. Talk about childish, about the same as you calling playing tight on this play a chess move. You whine and argue just as much as me and everyone else on here, so please stop with the self serving comments.

Lol. Don't know what that means. But

Sure think i had a couple at least. And always had paper
@50+yeartidefan TP is throwing shade.........

Dubose "supposedly" got the job because Bob Bockrath (AD that ran off Stallings) was inundated with faxes to his office calling for Dubose to get the HC job after Stallings "retired". IIRC, number one on Bockrath's list to be the next HC was Rick Neuheisel.

You irrirate the hell out of me with how you come across as a self pompous jerk who bully people. I'm gonna hit ingore button and have a good day.

Wow, once again coming from the guy that Thumbs Down people. We know what you said, it's right there in black and white for everyone to see. Go be a cry baby somewhere else, because no one is bullied on here. You're just a typical bum that doesn't like being called out for stupid comments. No one has ever mentioned Pete Golding and playing chess in the same story, ever, yet you have an issue with me calling you out on a bad take. Of course you're trying to walk that back now. Go get a warm bottle and nurse yourself to sleep. Please hit ignore because it has gotten old hearing you whine all the time.

The difference between you and I is that I take my medicine when I'm wrong. I have been schooled many times on here, enlightened, educated, and have admitted to being wrong a number of times, as well as shown my generosity towards others. What have you done? Oh, but I'm a big baaaaadddd bully.

Old school me can't do it. Now if we win I will get over it. I do know Heupal has their offense playing well and very up tempo. The Bama offense sustaining drives is going to be the best defense that could help keep the Viles scoring down. Now if our offense goes out there and does the 3 and out several drives in a row the dam will eventually break.

Agree Mando. We had a streak in the Texas game where we had 23 yards of offense in 6 drives, and that’s a combined 23 yards. I’m thinking Young will be more comfortable and in sync with the receivers by now, but he’s only played, what, 4 games with them.

Thanks,.....sometimes @TerryP does that from the Executor....if early in morning...its over my head like a passing cloud.....

As bad as Dubose turned out.....i wasnt a Neuheisal fan either

We're the same when it comes to defense, contrary to what we are told is the new norm. The best all around football game I have ever seen was the 2012 SEC Championship between Alabama and Georgia. It had everything. Georgia scored 28 points and I still felt our defense played really well and got us the Win. I prefer 21 or less like you said, but willing to accept 28 if we get the Win.

The D played pretty well vs. A&M - Milroe's turnovers allowed A&M to score many of their points.

Against Tennessee, I agree that allowing 28 points is a win. Above 28 is possible (and Alabama could still win, if Bryce plays), but wouldn't be a "good" performance. Less than 28 would be great for the D.

That was the first time (of two) that Beamer was interested. It would have been a perfect fit with Foster coming to take over the Stallings defense. Dumb ass fans and Bockrath/Sorenson. Ol' Bob stood by his line "I had strong interest in Beamer" but that's a load of shit.

@BamaFan334 Why is Jimbo yelling Evan's name? The switch called by the defense on a "four wides" set. Is King making the right read there? Jimbo didn't believe so. If you'll look you can see Arnold is indicating (upper body) he's pushing outside. Perhaps King didn't see the change.

A defensive scheme change in that situation comes from Golding.

I see some think it was a bad call. It definitely was a bad pass. IF King isn't capable of making that throw, it's a bad call.

I may well be indeed a dumb ass...but i wasnt in with Dubose taking over....
I never understood....why....it was even considered.... a one year DC ....
But I wasn’t in with Beemer or neusial either...as I remember ( or Fran at a later time)

Bockwith should have left Stalling alone......and i dont believe....right or wrong...he would have left...couldnt get a more bama man....

I was shocked....they weren't running a play with several options...
