Two reasons a throw can be late, one of course is the QB decision the other is timing is off because the WR cutoff his route to soon. I think in this caes it was the latter. I have heard some of the talking heads (McElroy) mention this also. It is likely the case because even if the WR catches the ball he is not in the end zone. No way that was the design. He needed to catch the ball in the end zone since this was the last play. The play was there for aTm. If you watch the replay the aTm receiver was open when he broke back to the pylon. But the throw was late allowing Terrion to catch up cause the receiver must slow up to remain in the end zone.
If the QB would have turned it lose when the receiver faked inside , it would have been a TD.
IMO
On the Pete Goldin comment, when he puts a D on the field that doesn't give up 20 points to a mediocre offense I will give him credit. I do know they have been the strength of the team but I am going to beat the drum until I am gone the other teams should not have 20 points even though all of you guys tell me this is a new day and in the era of RPO it is impossible to do although teams do it all the time.
If Goldin takes a defense to Knoxville that keeps the Viles in check (14-21 points) and I will come on here and praise old Pete.
