🏈 Coach Saban draws up the @AlabamaFTBL defense on tonight's final play.

The Golding led staff, calling a defensive scheme change, that "out coached" Jimbo.

And no one wants to comment here?

So Terrion saying he read lips and making a good play on the ball when the QB starred down the receiver is out coaching the other team and we are supposed to ohhhhh and ahhhhh over that???

To me, the defense never kept King from going anywhere he wanted with the ball. He went exactly where the play was called and Arnold played it well. King had his guy if he just wings it over out of the cut. I just don't see why we give Golding credit here. Man from the two yard line isn't uncommon.

No Golding credit for me...either
Great athletes....still D not ready on some plays...players coming in and stopping and having to go back out...
Poor communication in back end...

Shocked he is still DC

Didn't watch the video, eh?

What's the coverage change?

It's easy to recognize how DB were playing their recievers by playing soft and Golding changed the coverage to play tight and fooled Jimbo. It was a chess move. Jimbo got lulled into sleep by thinking Bama was gonna do same thing. Kudos to Golding and Arnold.

The play was there for aTm. If you watch the replay the aTm receiver was open when he broke back to the pylon. But the throw was late allowing Terrion to catch up cause the receiver must slow up to remain in the end zone.

If the QB would have turned it lose when the receiver faked inside , it would have been a TD.

IMO

What's the coverage change?

I watched every second of it. Still doesn't take away from the fact he went to his #1, and only read. No change matters because King was going to Stewart no matter what. So what does a change in coverage mean from the prospective of what king decided to do? There was no decision to be made. He tried looking him off and then fired to the pilon. the route was not adjusted for any of that reason either, it was a called play all the way, so I'm still unsure why you're attempting to give Golding all the credit here. It was just a bad play call and Arnold played it well with his instincts and self-explained lip reading abilities.

How are you going to play soft when the game is on the line and at the two yard line??? That makes absolute zero freaking sense. Saban said himself the only thing that changed was their leverage. You call that chess? I call it a dumb play call and simply good athleticism by #3.
