Waldrep gloved first-team catcher for the second year in a row. He hit .377 for the season with 17 runs batted in on 26 hits, 10 of which were of the extra-base variety. Waldrep was a 2007 THSBCA second-team all-state member.

He certainly comes from an area that doesn't, in the least, lack talent for baseball.

His only problem is, that he is one of 6 catchers on the Tide roster. Lots of competition.

I looked over the roster in more detail this morning.

One of my first thoughts was..."I wonder what would happen if someone asked Gaspard for a depth chart."

Couldn't help but laugh at myself a bit.
