Lacrosse is getting a lot bigger in the South. Would open up more scholarship opportunities, maybe. Ritzy sport, so may be some money behind it booster wise.

It’s very popular in the Charlotte area. All the male kids play. After church in the parking lot the kids at church get out their sticks and start slinging the ball around.

It’s been big in the ACC for a number of years, my younger two boys both played high school lacrosse in the Atlanta Metro area.

Obviously Title IX is the hurdle that can't be cleared, but give me more college hockey. Of all the UA club sports, the Frozen Tide is by far the most fun to watch, IMO. Said it before, but I wish UA would build them a mixed use ice rink facility.

Wholeheartedly agree. Cost wise, Lacrosse comes quicker. Fun sport to watch live.

Yeah, I really enjoy watching it live, especially Bama. But Pelham is a bit of a trek to do it... hate that the team has to travel so far just to practice. Really hoping at some point an ice rink in Tuscaloosa will gain traction. Was hoping Stan Pate (local real estate mogul and legitimate crazy person) would include one in the Sports Complex he wants to build on the on McFarland Mall property, but I doubt anything of worth comes out of that any time soon.

I agree. I think the new parcel would be a splendid place to build a rink. Tuscaloosa needs one anyway. Furthermore, the daily trips to Pelham eat up too much of their time. As I've said before, however, since I live in Alabaster, I can selfishly say that I'm fully content to keep Bama playing Pelham. We used to be season ticket holders.
