šŸˆ Charlie Strong still purging...

Both starting tackles have been either suspended or kicked off the team for good. Is he gonna have a team left when all the dust settles. Need to look for a list of all the guys he's kicked off the team, the list has to be close to a recruiting class size at this point.

Now here is where this gets interesting for them against BYU, they are without their starting QB and Center and now without both tackles. Backup QB is a super athletic kid (very very raw though, I still question why he didn't go to TCU) 5* Tyrone Swoopes (his aunt played in the WNBA). I've seen him play basketball and football a few times as he's from about 30 miles away from me in Whitewright, TX.

Some Texas fans supporting this and others not...

On a flight a few months ago I ran into one of the Texas football staff members, I tried hard to get him to take an Alabama shirt, told him its a much better color than burnt Orange. He told me his employer wouldn't be happy.

The Texas fans not supporting this need to remove their head from their anal cavity. You cant whine about how shitty the program had become and how undisciplined the team was and then also whine when your coach, that is actually attempting to instil some discipline, is purging the bad apples from the program. Strong is going to resurrect that program if they let him do what he needs to and be a bit patient (they want have to be patient for long tho because talent was never the problem with Texas).

Well-said. He is doing the right thing. Might not be the popular thing for some, but he is looking long term at the strength and integrity of a program he is trying to put his mark on.

If you Google meddlesome alumni you would get a whole bunch of hits related to the Longhorns. I like what Strong is doing. If you don't buy in, you head out. A lot of stuff went on at Texas under Mack, but there is a new sheriff in town.

You have to cut the dead weight and make the program your own or you'll always have someone around questioning your moves. When I was coaching HS baseball, I completely changed our uniforms. The guy I replaced was a good guy and a good coach too, but I wanted to make MY mark on the program and let everyone know who was the HC. It didn't hurt that we needed some new threads, but either way, an impression was made. I instilled a little more discipline and they understood that I wanted to win. I think that of the teams I had during my tenure there, only a handful of kids aren't in contact with me in some shape or form. Even a couple that I had to remove from the program, continue to stay in contact after 20 years.

Easily my two favorite quotes from that movie.

Excuse me while I whip this out.
They said you was hung....and they was right.

I even took a midrange quote, not from Blazing Saddles, but from 48 hours with Eddie Murphy. Bar scene, offered a black Russian, sends the shot glass through the bar mirror...

Blazing Saddles is THE all-timer for double entendre.

RTR,

Tim
