🌎 Charlie Kirk shot during speech in Utah...

I just can't understand killing someone because of a difference of opinion on anything. I am all for having discussions or debates but to take it to the level of murdering someone who's views don't align with yours is just something I don't understand.
I agreed with the vast majority of his platform and hope someone else takes up a similar cause of bringing truth to college campuses.

Was surprised that my daughter (8th grade) knew who Charlie Kirk was. She apparently ran across him on tiktok at some point and watched a lot of his debate clips. I had no idea, she's not a political junkie or anything like that. But she was very familiar with him. I guess his reach was even broader than I assumed.

My kids knew him as well

but this is dusgusting

No sir, there isn’t anything I agree with him on.
He would have called what happened yesterday disgusting. Like you, he was very much against violence like this in a political arena. Here, on the same page of this thread, you've agreed with him and everyone else.

I have no doubt you disagree with him on some political issues and debates. I also have no doubt you agreed with him on some things in life.

There is no reason for me to continue here, Stomp. You know I'm right. I don't take a few things you believe and because of that choose to take a stance, or make the statement, I don't believe anything you say or stand for. You don't either.

I do find something ironic. You stand up for what you believe. You believe other should do the same. Charlie Kirk stood up for what he believed. He also thought others should do the same: "Let's talk about it" has been quoted several times (attributed to Charlie.) At the core, you are agreeing with each other here and on numerous other things.

The reactions on Main Street, USA, are something to note.

Joe, over at his meat market, isn't boarding up his windows in fear of being looted. Sam at his electronic store isn't either. Both, when asked, were unaware of any law enforcement preparations for possible riots.

This, and today's date, make for a sobering Thursday.

Hannah Arendt. Some irony here.

Acts of violence against Democrats or Republicans because we disagree on issues are unacceptable. What was done in Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Michigan, Florida and even the insurance guy in New York has no place in our society. This act yesterday, IMO, was a political assassination plain and simple. I don't agree with some peoples political posts on here or their football posts but I can disagree with them and still remain civil. When one party or both calls for violence, interrupting law enforcement, non-peaceful protests, etc...it is just wrong.

Let’s use critical thinking, I obviously was saying I don’t agree with him on anything politically. I don’t give a shit if you believe me or my stances or not. My life is going to be just fine whether you believe me, like me, or if anybody else does. I assure you Terry I firmly believe every political and personal stance I have.

It’s really not difficult to use critical thinking in knowing I was obviously meaning politically, I didn’t know I needed to spell it out, we obviously would’ve agreed on some things in life like food or some shit. Again, politically I 1200% disagreed with him and he would’ve disagreed with me
