🏈 Cell Phone service at Bryant Denny

I have verizon and it was the same during every game this year. Was hoping the "improvements" they made was gonna help. No luck though. Once I got out of the stadium it was fine.

I'm in the same boat as Tim. Big difference this year with ATT as opposed to the past. Only game I had any issue was the LSU game. Actually was able to watch ESPN on my phone and keep up with other games and use the score center app.

it is not your carrier. It is the capacity of any given tower. Most are designed to carry from 24 to 64 simultaneous phone conversations at any given moment per carrier. Each carrier has their capacity set for 365 days a year. Most of them do not care about game day. Even though some carriers have extra capacity at a stadium it is usually dedicated to the press booth.

We sell systems to increase the cell phone capacity for Hotels, Convention Centers, venues that want to use the service for credit card transactions, etc. The University would have to purchase equipment and furnish bandwidth to accommodate that many users. The cost would be in the range of a half a million for that many users. What would they get from it? Not a lot of bandwidth per user. If they want to make fans happy then it is a great solution that I would love to present. They could charge each user a fee just like buying a Coke or hot dog. Still making it work would be a challenge because of all the different frequencies they would have to clear with the FCC and the massive amount of users they would have to design the system for. You can only have so many devices within a mile using the same frequency.

Google is working on a system that uses drones for temporary venues but it ain't here yet.
