“We had several chances to score and we didn’t,” Saban said. “We could have changed the game earlier than we did.
“We’re not out there playing to protect our defense. We want explosive plays on offense. We were doing a good job running the football, but when we play against big, physical teams with big, fast people up front, we have to be able to throw the ball. We have got to attack the middle of the field and make [the other team] defend that area. We haven’t done that in two games.
“Then, in the fourth quarter, when we were trying to let the air out of the ball, we had two penalties and had to punt to them. Once, that let them score a touchdown. If you do those things in a two-point game, you’re in trouble.”
