So who has the hottest seat in the SEC heading into the 2019 season? It all depends on who you ask but CBS Sports recently published a list ranking the hot seats for all 130 FBS teams on a scale of zero to five. A hot seat level of zero indicates there is no hot seat, while five means that the coach must win immediately or face being fired.
Here is how each SEC coach ranked on CBS’s list:
Gus Malzahn, Auburn — 3
Derek Mason, Vanderbilt — 3
Chad Morris, Arkansas — 2
Mark Stoops, Kentucky — 2
Ed Orgeron, LSU — 2
Barry Odom, Missouri — 2
Matt Luke, Ole Miss — 2
Jeremy Pruitt, Tennessee — 2
Dan Mullen, Florida — 1
Will Muschamp, South Carolina — 1
Joe Moorhead, Mississippi State — 1
Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M — 1
Kirby Smart, Georgia — 0
Nick Saban, Alabama — 0
