🏈 Cash sought for Cam Newton

I would think it makes him ineligible. If they were looking to charge MSU, I cant see him going to Auburn for free. Even if Cam had no knowledge of it. I think that would fall under a parent recieving an extra benefit.

Still as I said earlier in the thread. I dont see anything comng of this. Not now any way. In 5 years maybe.

An explanation i have heard for this is (this came from a bama fan with a barner wife), all the schools said no to paying him so they went where the system was a better fit and gave him the best opportunity to succeed. my comment was thats possible, but not likely

If was matter of institutions not wanting to pay him, then he would still be ineligible by SEC standards and NCAA standards that say a representative may not solicit funds from a university on behalf of a student with or without their knowledge. SPIN IT BABY!!!!

Just spoke with an attorney friend of mine (BOOM related)...... redfish 2010-11-18 10:00:38
who had breakfast with a prominent Montgomery businessman, who was at one time a major stock holder in Colonial Bank. This person spoke with a current officer at Colonial who stated the following....

The Feds have already visited Colonial and made them aware of the the fact that they have evidence to support the claim that Auburn football players were given ATM cards to tap into a sludge fund, as well as loans from the bank that they never had to pay back. He also said that the story about AU players going to Victoryland and hitting rigged slots, ala Larry Langford, is 100% true, and the Feds have proof of that as well.

I was also told the reason Slive sat on the story is because the Feds made him. They were afraid if news leaked about Cam and illegal payments, that the people they were listening to would know their phones were tapped. I was told to expect all the information to be made public once the indictments are handed down.

:panic:I'm expecting something to break loose today. :a:

I think it has been allowed to calm down a little due to the off week that the Barn had last week. I imagine in my opinion, people are sitting on things just for this week. Hell, it could be Friday morning when we get up and get ready to make the trip to T'town.

As far as indictments go, I would expect them to come out later. I think it will be more news with more meat and substance to it that comes out this week. It wouldn't surprise me if the people in Vegas didn't have some idea of this with the spread starting at 4pts.
