Instead, he puts a 6'3-240 pound outside linebacker in a position to take an option read by himself to catch a 6'3 4.4 speed quarterback. If you think we are losing just because of players you're simply crazy. Golding can't make tackles, you're right, but he damn sure can yeach them how to tackle. Why were we so much better under Kirby and Pruitt? You're not telling me the recruits are better, because that's not accurate. Why has our defensive unit continued to fall from earlier standards?

He shares some of the misery with O'Brien. The lack of knowledge in our players all falls on coaching. They trot the best guys out there and they make millions of dollars to prepare these guys. Missed tackles, assignments, uncertain route changes etc is all on coaching and who they out their trust in to make these plays.

Then one ILB from 10RC and we're starting Moody who was a fallback signee due to we missed on everybody else. He's been at Bama for 5 years and never started but everybody made him out to me an All American this year.

The two inside DL Young and Dale are average as hell and LSU owned them. Anderson did nothing and #15 missed big tackle after big tackle all night long. 14 and 7 were schooled with 1 doing somewhat ok.

You have NOBODY on defense that is playing great right now. NOBODY.

You make very good points but 1 thing is missing. The person responsible and the one to blame for the failures of the current program is Head Coach Nick Saban. He allows Golding and BoB to continue to do the same things over and over again and expecting different results.

The players are at least talented enough to coach up. A coach worth his salt can take decent players and make them great by honing fundamentals and technique.

Being out of position: that's coaching.

Missed tackles: that's coaching. Fundamentals, anyone?

I agree with you, but those other two are paid millions to watch tape, coach up players, and build a winning formula. O'Brien while maddening has atleast scored points. Golding hasn't shown jack shit to show me he's worth his salary. Gets popped for a DUI in the off-season and then we have two losses so far this season because his defense has allowed 32 and 52 points in those games.

It's amazing how a veteran squad with the likes of Branch, Will Anderson, Dallas Turner, and more look this mediocre. This was touted as one of the best defenses since 2016, and it has looked lost repeatedly. Golding has yet to put up an elite defense.

There is no way in hell Nick is bringing Bill back in 2023. He will not fire him tomorrow even though that would be good. His MO is to allow coaches to move on and get a new gig and be announced at that gig well before Nick even mentions the change.

Pete got the gig because Nick fuked up with promoting Tosh to the DC because he didn't want to lose him as a recruiter. We've been in a freefall since.
