Went to the game last night and had a blast but was curious as to why the teams were on opposite sidelines and Vandy was listed 2nd on the scoreboard, which is generally used for the home team right?

Sorry I was apparently unclear with my question.. We attending a game last year and sat in section hh and were on the same side of the field as the Alabama team.. Last night we sat in the same section and were on the same side with Vandy instead. Is there not a true "home team" side of the field?

I'm with Terry. The Alabama team has been on the West side of the stadium (press box side), since about 2002 or 2003. I can't remember exactly, but I think it was Shula's first year in 03 that Bama went to the west side. Prior to that Alabama was on the east side of the stadium. Reason was because Coach Bryant wanted his players faces to be seen on TV when the games were televised. This was in the day prior to having 6 dozen camera angles within the stadium. Another thing was the players didn't have names on the back of jersey's at that time.
