To the Thousands of Alabama Fans that live in other states...Alabama NEEDS OUR HELP NOW! I've sent my donations to help the Great People of Alabama via text message from West Tn. Everyone in my family has done the same. The Salvation Army is one of many helping in this great time of need! I ask each and everyone to Please Send Help to our Bama Family. Text 80888 type"GIVE" in message box for a $10.00 Donation! My thoughts and prayers to all...I will donate weekly until the Rebuilding of the State of Alabama is COMPLETE! God Bless...

Thanks TerryP for the link. I just ordered mine. I know the people in and around Alabama have their own link, but for us not so close, I thought I would make it easy to donate. Believe it or not in Tn I see a 2 min clip on the news about Alabama and no news channel have bothered to say how or where to go to donate! I've spent the past several days searching for a place that I knew Alabama would receive the money. The Royal Wedding has been more important...Unbelievable

Yes the royal wedding was obviously more important to most of the news outside of Alabama.

Mastiff you can always donate to the Red Cross, even via text.

I signed up to help volunteer thru Hands On Birmingham. The EMA isn't letting many in. I tried getting into Pratt City yesterday but it was a parking lot just trying to inch towards there off I-20/59. I turned around and tried to enter into Fairfield into Pleasant Grove but have heard the National Guard will not let you in without a pass. Hands On posts their jobs daily now. The ammount of support people are showing is incredible and speaks volumes about us Alabamians. Im going to try and help again next weekend with clean-up efforts or with whatever they need me to do. Sometimes just talking with those affected helps them feel better and know they have our support.

Bottom line is everyone needs to contribute in some way to help your fellow Alabama friend. It doesn't have to be anything related towards football either. Personally I get put off by the slew of photoshops some people are doing that shows Auburn colors blending with Alabama colors. This has NOTHING to do with football. It also pisses me off when I see other school fans first mention something along the lines of "we may be rivals but...". I understand and all but football should be the last thing people lump into the tragedy that happened action across our state, not just in TTown.

Thoughts and prayers to the families and friends immediately affected by the storms. It is a sad time for our state and across the southeast.

If you are looking for somewhere to donate, I suggest donating food items to the DKE/Beta food preparations. They quickly ran out of snack items. Things like chips, nuts, pretzels, crackers etc. They also need sweet items, such as cookies, Little Debbie snacks, etc. They will be cooking again tomorrow, so please drop off some of these items if you can.

I understand the emotion behind the statement. The royal wedding is a worldwide event that does not happen very often. And as much as it pained me I did watch it with my wife. It was a welcomed distraction for a few hours. And two RAF members that were interviewed sent their prayers to the people in Alabama.

I don't think anyone has forgotten about the damage from the storms. News events occur everyday and the headlines will change. I'll be ordering my t-shirt and helping in whatever way I can.
