Pac-12 football players’ demands include:

— Player-approved health standards enforced by 3rd party

— 50% of revenue distributed evenly to athletes

— Medical insurance for 6 years after college

— Reduce pay of Larry Scott, coaches, administrators

Some other demands by Pac-12 football players:

— End lavish facility costs and use endowment funds to protect all sports

— Prohibit/void COVID-19 agreements that waive liability

— 2% of revenue to support financial aid for low-income Black students & community initiatives

Racial equality is a key theme of the Pac-12 players’ statement. “Because NCAA sports exploit college athletes physically, economically and academically, and also disproportionately harm Black college athletes, #WeAreUnited.”

The Pac-12 players suggest they are “forming alliances with college athletes from other conferences.” It’s not clear from the statement how many Pac-12 players are involved or which universities.

Might as well go ahead and let them enter the NFL and all right out of high school. Yes it will cause college to be less competitive, but the players there will be the ones who want to be there as opposed to the ones who are just trying out for the NFL.

I saw a number this weekend that showed the revenue in the PAC was about 550m last year. So, 225 is what they are asking for, right? I wonder how many of these kids are at Stanford where about 10 or so programs were just recently cut. Do they care about those athletes? It doesn't look that way. It's all about "us."

As a country, this pandemic has exposed a lot of weakness.

Indeed it has starting with leadership at all levels. Followed by entitlement and then just downright foolishness. I think we are seeing the failing associated with our acceptance of mediocrity and everybody gets a trophy. People get lazy and entitled when they are not challenged.

Also we decided to accept some bizarre behaviors in the name of diversity. We have not done people any favors by telling them their behavior is ok.

Seems like we all needed a wakeup call, maybe this will be it, either that or we are about to go over the cliff.

We've seen retail businesses, restaurants, and the like close over the last few weeks because they had no business. No customers. Thats not #fakenews or #fearporn. It's #facts.

Over the last week and a half I've spoken with friends from all five P5 conferences; two per conference from different schools at the least (PAC) and as many as five in the ACC.

There's one resounding note I've heard with every conversation. If a program doesn't have "fans," or consumers in this instance, it can not stand. You mention "ridiculous" here and have mentioned you'd "be done" with collegiate sports if this "ridiculousness" continues.

You aren't alone.

In these conversations boosters and ticket holders/purchasers have come up in every single conversation. A lot of the time it wasn't due to a question; it was an unsolicited comment.

Here's where we are and there is no denying this fact. These fans and boosters are losing their interest at a quick pace. Their patience has been worn thin and a lot of them are about to pull every bit of monetary support they've been giving to their respective programs. Again, this is happening at a brisk pace.

IF this keeps on it's highly likely some of these folks (players) are going to lose their opportunity: one that's afforded to few.

There's not a thing that's "in good faith" about their demands. And I can assure you, a lot the athletic administrations personnel in the PAC don't view it that way.

It's greed, motivated by selfish reasoning...at least a portion of what they are "demanding" fits that category.

I'll pose this again this morning. IF they were so concerned about the health and well being of student athletes, why didn't they demand all athletes be under scholarship?
