🏈 Bryce Young Wins 2021 Heisman Memorial Trophy

Awesome! Bama guys have been snubbed for this award many times. Only have one other win. Lots of ACC guys win it. This is well deserved.
Out of all the P5 conferences the ACC ranks last with the total number of winners (6th overall behind Independents.) I looked at the numbers a while back and if I recall correctly the top conferences were:

Latest compiled numbers I can find were from 2017, before that year was given out. Adding in the last 4 winners it should be as follows (present conference, not conference when won). When Oklahoma and Texas move it would change to SEC - 25 and Big 12 - 3. Note that I do include Reggie Bush in here even though his was vacated. Pac 12 would have 11 otherwise. Archie Griffin is counted twice since this is really trophy count adn not individual winner.

You calling me out Terry? Maybe you’re not talking about the Nagurski. The years I was living in Charlotte (presented by their touchdown club) Bowers, Kuechly, Te’o, Donald and Chubb won it. That was the 11 years I was in Charlotte. But ACC has 9 of the 28 overall. SEC has 5. B1G has 5, Big 12 has 5, PAC 12 has 3, AAC has one which was last year.

Gotcha. My “Awesome” post was about Anderson winning the Nagurski. We’ve had a lot of guys as finalists in CNS era and now 2 winners. With these tinted shades I have on, I thought a couple more of our guys should have won the thing.
On SEC Now this morning Peter Burns said WA is one of five from the SEC to ever win the award. 🤷‍♂️

If that's indeed true Bama's had 40% of the winners from the SEC. I'd have thought the SEC would have seen more.

And they went 0-4. They haven't had a Heisman winner since '06.
That's part of what makes it a weird flex. It's about like spam; you think your clicking one thing and then you're headed somewhere else. Here they think they'll draw attention to how well they've been doing. But, what's the average fan going to think about next? It's Alabama this year winning, it was Alabama last year winning with those three and then they'll think about Tua, and Jalen—still associated with Bama—and where are they now? Looking at another team with greater success.

It's just a weird flex during a great run for that program.

The SEC should have had a lot more. Absolutely. ACC gets preference I guess because of the host touchdown club. Champ Bailey, Glenn Dorsey, Jonathan Allen, Josh Allen, and WA.

We’ve have the following make the finalist ceremony and not win: Minkah, Q. Williams, Ragland, Landon Collins, Mosley, Milliner, Barron and Cody. It’s crazy that we’ve had so many finalists in 13 years! That’s 10 finalists.

Do you think it eats at the Barners that we are about to eclipse them in Heismans in a few days? They used to always gloat about that stupid shit back in the 2000s. "Hehe Bammers you may have all those mythical national championships but ya still aint got no heisman trophy winners WDE!"

They will now take the stance on the Heisman that many Bama fans had prior to Mark Ingram walking to the podium to grab his... "Heisman's don't really matter..." New territory for them.

I still take that stance relative to winning a championship versus the Heisman award. Do not get me wrong great to do both but if I have to choose. It for sure helps get more great players in t-town.

Well sure, but I remember a good portion of fans who acted like they took pride in the fact that Alabama never had a Heisman winner in some weird effort to make themselves feel better about auburn having 2 winners at the time.
