šŸˆ Bringing this up again with student seating, empty seating, and things that need to be done about it

I found this looking around different Alabama sites this morning. Has anyone heard anything about this? True, just another rumor, a stir?

Got an interesting email regarding the student seating debacle.. from the organizer of the law school's block seating (which I don't sit in, for the record- I sit with the independents and stay all 60 minutes, but I digress), several of the block seating "leaders" met with the SGA, who voiced their extreme displeasure. Apparently Terri (the First Lady herself) went to the SGA with a not so appreciative disposition and demanded action be taken.

Photographs will be taken during the A&M game, and probably for the rest of the year, of basically the whole student section. If we have another student "performance" like we did for Miss State, the following actions (among others that the email didn't reveal) were proposed:

1. Penalizing students for leaving early with swipe-outs
2. Incentivize students to stay by starting a new post-game tradition, or giving bonus points for next year's SOS application to organizations that stay the entire game.
3. Remove the blocks.
4. Rearrange the block

Grade of saw and all that, but I thought it was interesting and, as a student, am actually glad something's being done. We have too many seats, namely block seating and the ridiculous upper deck seats, which should be completely opened up to nonstudents. No students want to sit there. RTR

Some of this I don't doubt at all. In fact, part of it I know is true.

Some of it I tend to look at a little skeptically, but only based on the ages of those involved.

Apparently Terri (the First Lady herself) went to the SGA with a not so appreciative disposition and demanded action be taken.

Considering how teenagers can "interpret" things Terri may have been seen as having a "not so appreciative disposition." In fact, if you read the way that's written it sounds like something a student would say. We've heard "it's our school" for years. With that age group, I can easily see them thinking "we aren't appreciated/we need to be treated specially, etc."

Her tone set aside—IF it actually existed.

For Terri to have a say in something happening in the stadium during football games is not only likely, it' has it's precedent. The "Roll Tide" you hear after the band plays when the team makes a first down was her idea. So, speaking up about student body attendance? That I don't have a problem with believing in the least.

I know there have been people talking about the attendance—and lack thereof—from the students. I'm not talking about fans on a message forum or even a group at a tailgate over a cold beer. The powers that be have seen this, discussed it, and have been making plans on a way to address the situation. So, for this to be brought up to the SGA is another thing I truly believe. It's been coming this fall it was just a matter of when.

This incentive idea as mentioned sounds like something that would come from Saban. I don't know about it, but certainly believe it's possible.
