šŸ’¬ Breaking Barriers: How C.M. Newton changed the face of the SEC

Good article but one error in there. Saying that the Bama basketball program was the first to integrate. On the court, sure but not on signing a player to a LOI. Both football and basketball signed their first black player in '70 but in football, freshman could not play(changed a couple years later). So BBall was first to play a black player but both programs signed one in the same year. Also Bryant kept a list of black players that he wanted to recruit, for several years before he finally signed one. He waited until some of the civil rights stuff started to die down before he took the plunge. He wanted to recruit black players as far back as his stint at aTm but they told him that aTm would never have any black players, he told them they would likely cease to win games then.
