🏈 Braxton Miller to Bama?

Let's assume he transfers and doesn't start.

He's entering the draft after doing well in Urban Meyer's system, and having spent a year in Nick Saban's system.

Your a GM on a team looking at drafting a QB. How does he look?

Considering neither have produced a solid starting NFL quarterback. Urban certainly has the upper hand on this one.

Name me someone who does.

It's one of those things thrown out there that carries no weight.

'00 Orange Bowl. I'm still ticked off...

Agree with you on it not carrying weight, but Urban isn't known for being an NFL QB producer, actually Saban probably has a better record.

NC State the top at this point? Wilson and Rivers. I don't consider Wilson to be a Badger, he was a hired gun.

Vandy has put out Cutler, UT - Manning, Ole Miss - Manning, IGA - Stafford, The Barn - Cam, LSU - Russell, Flynn and Mett have all started a number of games. And Tebow won quite a few games those 2 years including a playoff game. He had some saccess at least. Off the top of my head, that's some NFL guys from the SEC.

Now, are these all success stories of great QB development by the college coaches? Not all. I would vote more that it's solid QB recruiting in most cases. I don't think Urban or Saban haS much advantage on the other in QB development. But it appears Urban has an NFL guy in his cupboard right now. Hope we do!

Both were recruited by the same guy; Chuck Amato. Wilson had a different head coach when Tom O'Brien took over. Now, I don't know the offensive coordinator/QB coach under either guy. O'Brien may have kept someone off of Amato's staff for all I know.

Yeah, I saw Dylan Taylor's tweet yesterday, I ignored it.

I do believe there is a chance Braxton ends up in Tuscaloosa to play football. The major difference between Miller and Coker, Miller is a proven 3 year QB. Coker isn't.

Oh, I agree! There's no doubt there's interest with both parties.

If it happens, great. If not, oh well.

IF it does happen, the excitement level and publicity the football program is going to get will surpass that of Coker's transfer by...geez, no word comes to mind.

Suppose Braxton Miller does enroll. As others have expressed the thought, how does this affect the other five guys. Barnett figures to red shirt, so no effect there, but from Coker to Morris to Bateman to Cornwell the thought will at least occur that they have bided their time and paid their dues, hoping for their opportunity to see the field, and now a hired gun comes in and shoves them down the pecking order. I will cheer for Miller if he does end up in crimson, but my thoughts are with the other guys.

Personally, I will be very disappointed if we offer him a scholarship. I know winning is important, but admitting that you cannot train your scholarship quarterbacks to play winning football as a starter is not an admission I would want to make as a recruiting coach. We have the talent already wearing Crimson. Train them up!!!

I do not get why people are opposed to a transfer like this. We're talking hypotheticals, but still.

Makes. No. Sense.

It doesn't matter at all to me, but I've been told that the player's themselves don't care for them. Last year I was told no one in the locker room cared for Coker because he hasn't earned their trust and hadn't been through anything with them in regards to training and all of that. They wanted Blake to be their quarterback because they could trust him knowing he'd been in the program with them step for step. I never would have assumed these guys would have cared as long as they won and worked their way to the NFL, but they do actually care.
