🏈 Brando doesn't like Bama much

He seems to try to stir up crap on Bama every chance he gets. I thought Brando and Spencer Tillman were going to fight the other day when they were discussing Ingram for Heisman. Brando flat denied he should even be a legit candidate. Now hes stirring the pot for Saban to leave.....guess he is still pissed we got Saban and LSU is stuck with "the hat".

5 reasons Saban won't be going back to LSU Brando:
1. He just got a 100,000+ stadium to play in.
2. He just extended his contract to cover the rest of his career. Something MUCH bigger than LSU (the ex-girlfriend) would have to get him out of that. Been there, done that.
3. It not about $ at this point, he has all the $ he needs. He wants control to build a dynasty and UA has dropped it pants and bent over for him.
4. Saban is getting too old to start all over again. LSU has talent, but would have to be rebuilt it again the Saban way. It would take 4 years to get all the Miles brain-washing out of there.
5. Saban's are already stable where they are at and their kids are going to school here. Parts of Louisiana make Tuscaloosa look like Mayberry.

True. I try not to really concern myself with this issue. He was and is hired to do a job and does it well. He has earned every dime as far I am concerned and of course I hope he stays forever but he will leave us better than he found us. No doubt in my mind. I hope he keeps his residence in Tuscaloosa until retires but if he doesn't, he righted this ship and we'll just need to hire another quality captain....and they will come.

To further clarify all of this.

This whole line of discussion started this week in a conversation about Michigan and the other person in the conversation was Tony Barnhart.

It was based on RichRod is fired, who does Michigan go after? Of course, the answer was Miles.

Then, it was who does LSU go after? That answer was Saban.

The conversation was scripted in terms of the context and direction it would take. Getting worked up over comments like those this week...well, let's just say you fell into the hole they created.

LSU fans may point out that there is no penelty for CNS to leave, and that they could replace the Bama salary that he lost, but this point supports our position. Money can be gotten in numerous places, so its not about the money.

With a check soundly in that box, CNS can seek what he really wants, which is full control of a program that will allow him to go as far as he can take it. This holy grail of coaching is the real treasure and he was gifted this before he ever left Miami.

So the question that should be asked is what can anyone else offer that has not already, or can not be in a counter offer?

Noting that starting-over is a difficult thing, and thus works in Bama's favor, the answer that I came up with was the chance to coach where he will live after he retires. This begs the follow-up questions, where do the Saban's want to retire and is it a big deal to have to move there from Tuscaloosa when he's done (presuming West Alabama is not now home forever)?

We remember the Franchonis and how the Mrs. wanted the retirement home built and to live in it today. I've not caught wind of that being the case with the Sabans. Having lived in Baton Rouge, Miami, and Tuscaloosa, I would suspect that living "back home" in cold of West Virginia or Ohio would not be overly appealing with there being no overt needed to do so. Warm works in our favor. The Sabans do own the Lake House in Georgia, which leads me to ponder that UGA would be a more likely fit than LSU. In fact, UGA is about the only program that would worry ol' LBS regarding this topic. At the same time, one does not pay a million dollars for a Get-Away located next to your office. Advantage - every school NOT in Georgia. So, I don't know the answer, but believe that Bama is at least as well off as any other place in this matter.

As for moving, with $4.67 in the bank (give or take a few ZEROs) the Sabans could easily move to Bali it that is where they wanted to grow old together. thus, ability is a none issue unless Mrs. Saban defines it as one.

So I took the long way around (props to Ewen McGregor) to come to this; I have to think that Bama is a heavy, heavy favorite to keep Saban and I would not want to trade with anyone.

It's not enough for a SECW representative in ATL—in their eyes—as the main storyline. They want a side-story. One that is going to elicit fan response.

I'm not even looking for tact so much as I'm looking for them to not fabricate stories. Just the mere mention of this idiotic idea can cause casual fans watching the game to think something is up. This is distracting to the real fans who know better. So, I expect Vern or that other moron who hates Bama to give some mention to this talk radio fodder, and thereby committing it to conversation of those not-in-the-know.

It's like a damn soap opera with these media guys. And Finebaum is the Stephano of regional sports radio (if any of you get the reference. I'm even surprised at myself.)

Saban's going nowhere. He's only been here for three years. He either is going to leave in years 4-5, or he stays ten plus. He's not getting younger, and he's got short patience for some of the hijinks at some other school, such as Notre Dame.

Kausler, the man who made Coach Bryant cry as he shouted him down, tells 'Bama fans what we are thinking, not Brando.

I know all 'Bama fans are worried to death about Coach Saban leaving but, it is the job of Scar-BoBo to spread the word on that, not some outsider.

From the 2nd game of the season we 'Bama fans have only been concerned about winning the NC, Don "man-crusher" Kausler told us this. How dare Brando intrude on local 'Bama reporters; it just isn't right.

Ray Melick should set him straight and let him know that he will be the one getting the rumors going, not some high roller from SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA, like Tim Brando.

Scarbinsky and Melick and Kausler, the dream team of Alabama football coverage, will regulate our thoughts and let the nation know what 'Bama fans are obsessing about.

Let's all hope it stays this way and our caring and supportive beat writers can continue to tell us faithful 'Bama fans how we feel about things.

If 'Bama loses to LSU, it will be the honorable duty of Melick and Kausler and Scarbinsky to let us all know why 'Bama lost. Of course, it will be because 'Bama fans were obsessing about "Saban to LSU" or "only thinking about NC's" or hell, I don't know, because we are stupid and arrogant 'Bammmmers, etc...

Bottom line, our faithful and loyal writers here in the state of Alabama need to tell Tim Brando to back off because it is their job to weave the webs.

Tim Brando is a LSU homer from way back.

He was the sports director at WAFB-TV Baton Rouge and the voice of LSU basketball games (1981-86).

Brando graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a degree in television/radio management. He was born in Shreveport, La. He has always favored Louisiana teams.

Ever notice the snide way he says "Bammy" during CBS halftime updates? Very close to the "Bambi" reference that some LSU fans use when talking about Alabama.
