There's a part of me that isn't sad seeing the end of the '22-'23 sports year come to an end.
The only thing that ends a bad news cycle for Alabama lately is… more bad news on Alabama.

Didn’t see this coming! I expected more along the lines of a Reds scout or two learning of the “scratch start” and calling a friend with the “inside info”.
True! It really is difficult to make sense of this. If Bohannon is guilty in any way, his career is toast as a college coach! He might be lucky to get a shot coaching Rec league ball. Like it’s been said before, betting on college baseball really isn’t a winning route. Tigahs were at -245, so no real money to be made. Maybe Byrne has used this as a final straw to make the change since we have only made 1 NCAA appearance during his tenure and with the lawsuit that was filed against Bohannon and the trainer by the former player. I really don’t have a lot of confidence in Jackson and his decision making skills to finish this season on a high note.It is hard to make sense of it because on the surface there’s so much to lose (like, a career in this case) and very little (if anything) to gain. Then again, I’ve seen folks (we all have) throw away their career and reputations over some really silly stuff. One guy in particular, the silly stuff was ironically enough, gambling… caused him to do some very irrational things that caught up to him real quick. And when he got bit, he got bit hard.
I don't have the patience, or time, to follow baseball as much as I'd like: pro or college. I do know a half of a dozen guys who follow both as closely as you'll see guys following stats in their fantasy leagues. It is hard to make sense of it because on the surface there’s so much to lose (like, a career in this case) and very little (if anything) to gain. That's why I think it was a play on the total: the late run surge with the late pitching change on top.igahs were at -245, so no real money to be made

Just read that Bohannon was on the phone with the person that was placing the bets at the timeSince we are betting in the thread, I'd bet Bohannon admitted to wrongdoing... he may have even been dumb enough to have done it on an issued phone, who knows.
Feel you 100% on Jackson. IMO, he shouldn't have been retained after last season. I hope for the best and hope the players respond as well as possible to the whole ordeal.... but my faith right now in on E.
I don't see any value at -245. I'm curious, gotta admit.Tigahs were at -245, so no real money to be made.

Cue the hit job articles on Byrne...The only thing that ends a bad news cycle for Alabama lately is… more bad news on Alabama.
If I were still writing that's my content. It's not because I feel that way; it's something that's triggered a lot of fans.Cue the hit job articles on Byrne...
That right there is the biggest of the big for all involved. Once the Feds get involved and decide to make an example out of someone, all the garbage starts coming out. We all know that even if Bama itself might be clean that people around it may not. Things that would be nothing in other light lead to all kinds of real charges at times.that the feds don’t use him to make an example out of, as sports betting and the industry as a whole, is exploding in growth.
That's pretty unfortunate. Byrne is an excellent AD and just got a raise. I don't know what all Byrne is supposed to do about everything that has gone on. He can't hold everyone's hands when coaches and student athletes go out of their way and do dumb shit. To me he addressed them well, besides letting Oats say "wrong play; wrong time". Byrne has an excellent relationship with all the coaches and is one of the reasons Oats wants to stay here. From what we've seen, it seems like Saban, Murphy, and others like and respect him. Seems like everyone is just trying to find someone to blame for all of the shit that has transpired in the last few months. Does he need to hold a come to Jesus meeting with everyone in the athletic department? Probably so.If I were still writing that's my content. I had dinner last night with a friend from my times in Tuscaloosa; she's a member of TI. I scrolled through the football threads last night and—at the risk of underestimating the percentage—I'd bet 50% of the threads on baseball were related to Byrne.
I don't look at a message board and take it as a representative sample of the fan base though it's clear there's a group that's ready for him to move on.
Since we are betting in the thread, I'd bet Bohannon admitted to wrongdoing... he may have even been dumb enough to have done it on an issued phone, who knows.
Sounds like he used the Bruce Pearl defense and it blew up in his face. Serves him right!! Best to come clean immediately and likely suffer a suspension and loss of pay. As it stands, Bohannon may be limited to coaching Rec league baseball for the rest of his time!!To correct some earlier speculation on my part, it wasn't so much that he admitted to anything, it was that he wasn't real cooperative, and deferred to his attorney during the inquiry. That immediately sealed his fate with UA. Regardless, he was in a checkmate situation with the phone records anyway.
He knew He was going to be fired no matter what was said.To correct some earlier speculation on my part, it wasn't so much that he admitted to anything, it was that he wasn't real cooperative, and deferred to his attorney during the inquiry. Sound to me he short of a thing or two?An update on the gambling stuff...
For those that don't want to read it all, a summary... the guy placing the bets was an absolute moron (I honestly wonder if he was plastered), and Bohannon supposedly knew of what was taking place that day.
