Top ten wins is your personal line of demarcation. It doesn't apply to how teams are ranked, much less seeded, when it comes to the basketball committee.
Bama is 5-1 against Q1 teams, OU if 4-5. It's not about their schedule, it's also taking account to whom they've lost games against.
Bama is 10-3 versus Q1 and Q2. OU is 5-5.
10-3> 5-5. Easy to see that in my view.
Yes, because out of the teams you've mentioned how many play the same style?
I'm not talking about the quadrant. I'm talking against top tier opponents. I don't care if you can beat the #35 team or last team in the Q1, whichever number that is. I want to know that you can hang with the teams that are there in the end, which more than likely are going to be a front end Q1 team. Oklahoma lost to Baylor, Kansas, Texas Tech twice, and Xavier. I see one bad loss there, to Xavier. So sure, penalize them for Q1 losses for your argument, but I'd rather see those losses, and close one at that than to ones to Western Kentucky, Stanford, and Clemson. That's just me though.
I was simply making a point that Oklahoma won the head to head, we are in the midst of a shooting drought, and they have beat more Top 10 teams than us, so that's why I have a hard time considering us a #1 seed. That would insinuate that we are one of the best four teams in the country and I cannot deduce that from what I am seeing on the court. I just don't see a Top 4 team right this second. When we beat Tennessee, LSU the first time, and Kentucky the first time, yes. When we lost to Oklahoma, pressed by Mississippi State, and shot cold against LSU and Kentucky the second time, no.
I'm not talking about their style of play, I'm simply speaking to their dominance. They have been dominant over just about everyone. Not just a small stretch, but dominant all year long.
I say every bit of this with the proof I have been high on this team all year long and definitely think they have a chance to go deep. Go back at my posts and you'll see that. I'm just being honest about receiving a #1 seed. I hope we get it and push deep into a good bracket, but we have a ways to go before I feel we earn it. If we can play well today I'll feel a ton better. Getting Auburn again with Cooper having some experience will be a test as well because although other top tier teams may not have one superstar to his ability, they have a team to the level of just below his abilities and we need to show we can solve that.
