I think he's done enough for college football and that school to choose when he leaves for them to treat him like this is sad. Without Bowden that school would still be nothing, but a woman's college.

Now that the NCAA has made sure Paterno will have the most wins in college football, there really is no reason for him to stay on. His time has past and the whole situtaion is very sad to see.

This man has done more for college football than anyone I can remember. I went to his football camp in high school back in the 80s.. He treated every player w/ respect and was nice regardless of whether they were a blue chip or bench warmer..

If I were the Bowdens I would tell them to stick it where the sun dont shine!

Word out of Tallahassee from boosters is that he has two options, neither of which involve coaching next year. 1st option $2.5 million to retire quietly and never say a negative thing about FSu and 2nd option to hit the road with $1 million with no gag order.

I agree to a certain extent. I don't think Jimbo Fisher is going to change a thing at that school. But there is waaay too much talent in their backyard for them to stay mediocre for a long time. FSU and Miami both will make their way back to the top once they get good coaches back in there.

I do think that they needed a coaching change at FSU, but what does it hurt for them to allow Bowden to coach one more year?? Do they think they're going to get a top recruiting class by February? They're not going to be a top 10 team next year without Bowden, so my problem with this is what does it hurt to allow the man that made FSU anything other than a girl's school one more year? You just don't something like this to a legend like Bowden, one more year wouldn't hurt FSU or anybody else.

I disagree with all of you that think Bobby should be given another year because of what he did for the FSU program. If you will look back, FSU fans have given him several when he was way past his prime. He has talked of retirement but consistently shown that he has no interest in retiring and their program continues to decline. The comment Danielson made in the game Saturday hit the Noles pretty hard when he said, "Let's face it this is varsity playing junior varsity."

I don't think Jimbo Fisher is their answer but I guess that is where they start. If they are smart they will look at our history of coaches following Bear and try to shorten the time frame in hiring a quality football coach with a personality strong enough to carry the program.

I've seen several sources overnight saying that he has decided to retire. I am glad that is what he decided. I'd hate to remember him being the figurehead on the sidelines.
