🏈 @BobbyBurton247: Two sources tell that Case McCoy and Jordan Hicks have been ordered home from ...

I have no idea if they are related, but there's a story about two TX football players being accused of sexual assault breaking as well...

Per ESPN:
"On Friday morning, KENS-TV in San Antonio quoted San Antonio police as saying that two Texas players were being investigated regarding sexual assault allegations.

No charges have been filed. A copy of a police report emailed to ESPN.com states the alleged incident occurred from 2 to 2:40 a.m. Friday. All names beyond the officers involved have been redacted.
"No arrests have been (the case) is still being currently investigated," Matthew Porter of the San Antonio police told HornsNation's Carter Strickland. "There is no timetable for the investigation" to be handed over to the district attorney, he said.
Brown said he would meet with the team later in the day to explain the situation, and "then you move forward. You have policies that you go by.""

Word on the street (forums, blog comments, etc) is that they were (allegedly) at a party and a woman invited them back to her room.

How stupid (of them) and how sad (for her). IF it's all true.

I saw one article last night, and I believe it was from profootballtalk.com, that had specifically linked the two players to this incident. The thing that caught my eye was they were using the same reports—two players that were suspended and the police report—and saying these two players are involved.

2+2 makes sense it would be those two guys.

I bring that up to say this:

Time and time again I've seen people yell about ESPN stating things that often end up being premature. An example everyone may remember would be Miles going to Michigan a few years ago.

I saw on ESPN's Bottom Line a few minutes ago they are reporting the suspensions, but have not linked both stories together on TV. (That I've seen.) It seems they are showing discretion.

Of course if I mention this to those those claim the ESPN bias against teams they'll immediately say, "Texas and ESPN have an agreement for the LHN so they wouldn't publicize..."

 <-- Has grown tired of conspiracy theories <--

I hear the bias crap from TAMU fans all the time, it gets OLD. I get to hear it almost every day at work. ESPN is in bed with every conference.

From a Texas perspective...two leaders on your team, out well after curfew, just before a crappy bowl game. Have to wonder when Texas will address this, I guess the money that Mack helps bring into the program is more valuable than running a winning program.

I have been following the story as it develops on various blogs/forums/sports sites and I am VERY disturbed by the number of people referring to the Texas Tech student as a 'skank', 'whore', 'lying bitch' .. We don't even know the whole story .. I never heard one person didn't say the kids at Penn State were 'lying bitches' .. One person called it a conspiracy against the Texas program. Another called it 'just another dumb broad looking for her 30 seconds of fame'. Wtf?

We don't even know the story .. Yet everyone just assumes this woman is a liar, and assumes the two players are innocent? Why don't we WAIT for the story to unfold? It hasn't even been officially confirmed that the two players are McCoy and Hicks! (Though all signs point to yes)

ESPN posted this update:
A heavily redacted police report says the event occurred Friday morning from 2:00-2:40 a.m. when a 21-year-old woman invited two men to her hotel room. The report shows only that the men are students and that one is 21 and the other is 20. The woman told police that she had several drinks at a nightclub and the hotel bar before she invited the men to her room.
"I don't exactly remember," she said, according to the report.
The woman said one of the men had sex with her while the other "just stood there and watched," the report states.
"I don't quite remember," she repeated, according to the report.
Police said they observed bruises on the woman's right knee and left bicep.
After talking to police, the woman was taken to a San Antonio hospital, where she was seen by a sexual assault nurse examiner, according to the report. The two suspects also were taken to the hospital and examined by the nurse, the report says.
Ben Turner, acting general manager at the Holiday Inn on San Antonio's Riverwalk, said police were summoned to the hotel between 2 and 3 a.m. Friday to investigate an alleged sexual assault. He said hotel staff was cooperating with police.

Somebody please explain to me why anyone would commit the crime of rape, and then explain to me why two well known star athletes who could have any beautiful girl on campus at the drop of a hat would want to commit such a heinous sick crime?

I'll believe the accuser at this point, but something just doesn't sound right to me?

Remember the Duke Soccer Team?

The Duke soccer team case has nothing to do with this. It's like comparing it to the Notre Dame football case where the accuser committed suicide when no one believed her. They are simply different cases and this could go either way.

i will say this, however; for every "fake" rape charge, there are thousands of real ones. They must all be taken seriously.

Also, if the reported evidence of bruises on her body is correct, that could be proof of assault. But we shall see.

We don't know all the facts so I'm trying not to take sides but it seems pretty unfair to me that everyone is calling this girl (who may have experienced, and may still be experiencing, mental and physical anguish) names. If the accusations are true we are only adding to her problems. Ditto for the players, though the only slander I've seen is folks directly accusing them. Again it still hasn't been officially confirmed it was them, and they have not been convicted of anything either way.

Anyone can commit sexual assault or rape: could be the kindly old ex-coach in State College, a hotshot football player in Texas, etc. we are always shocked: "oh it could never be THAT guy, what reason does he have?" There is no reason to it. And it's often from the folks you don't expect.

I hope justice is served to whoever is at fault here. And I hope the name-calling stops.

Easy now, everyone isn't calling her names, more like "some"...

That being said, inviting two guys back to your hotel room at 2am-3am isn't the best decision, regardless of the amount of alcohol consumed. Not exactly putting yourself in a safe situation. I'm not balming her at all, just pointing out that decision probably wasn't the best one. If a girl is inviting me back to her room in the early hours of the am, I can promise you I'm probably thinking something is about to happen.

Now the thing about consent, it can be revoked at any time and must be respected.

Lets give both the accuser and the accused the benefit of the doubt until this situation has been sorted out...

There is a chance that the girl is making false accusations and there is the possibility that these two young men lost their collective minds and went off the deep end...

You say; for every "fake" rape charge, there are thousands of real ones. They must all be taken seriously.

FBI reports consistently put the number of "unfounded" rape accusations around 8%

So lets be fair to both sides and not exaggerate the statistics...

I must have missed the part where anyone on this site was calling the girl names but that is also something that is unfair?

The bottom line is, let's not just automatically believe the accuser or the accused in this or any other situation this serious until the facts are made public.

Glad I'm not the only that thinks something is fishy here... not trying to be disrespectful but it really sounds like someone that made a mistake and felt dirty/embarrassed afterward so cried rape. With that said, it may just be a simple case of two guys taking advantage of a girl and if thats the case and Im wrong they should be treated as such. What the Duke situation DOES teach us is that you cant be so quick to judge the players as if its all fact yet.

Oh nobody here is, but elsewhere on sports sites, blogs, etc there have been a lot of idiots (mostly teenaged Longhorn homers, I presume) attacking her. Seems unfair since we don't know the whole story. But there's always a few idiots out there .. Especially on the Internet.

It sounds fishy on both ends in my opinion but the only facts we know are: 2 UT players are suspended for "breaking curfew" and 2 UT players have been accused of sexual assault by a Texas Tech woman. I give all sides benefit of the doubt. If we are just going off grand assumptions, it sounds like everyone got drunk and made bad decisions. When alcohol mixes with rape charges, everything gets very complicated for all parties involved: especially if the reports of bruises are true.

My point about statistics was that the vast majority of rape causes are legit: I am not incorrect in stating that for every false rape there are thousands of real ones. Many real rapes also go unreported, especially male rapes. It took over a decade for Sandusky to see time and for more victims to speak up. But again we don't know anything about this case and what happened.

I imagine UT will make an official announcement re: the accusations tomorrow so the players aren't attacked today at the game. Though knowing the media it wouldn't surprise me if they get hounded today .. I feel bad for them. Coming into the last game of the year, and they didn't do anything wrong but they'll probably have microphones in their faces asking questions. I am no Texas fan but I hope they can stay focused. Should be a good game.

I think Birdman summed it up nicely. Can't be too quick to judge either side or pick a side.

Again, I just hope whoever is at fault here (if anyone is; could be no one, or could be the woman or the players) is brought to justice and that the truth comes out!

These situations are always very sticky ..
