Plus, I don't think anything can be said until they win a National Championship. Without that VERY important distinction, they drop on down the list a good ways.

The only two "great" defenses that I can claim to watching are the 92' defense and the 09' defense. In my opinion, the 92' was better, but that's neither here nor there. Prior to 92' I really don't know...but I do know a few things. We've had a lot of great defenses through the years. A whole lot of which have won National Championships. Therefore, in my opinion, this really isn't even possible until after this year is complete.

But, damn this defense sure does look good. Just my two cents.

Good post. Totally agree. I got to watch the 1970's teams, but I think 1992 is the best I have seen as well. I think we had the debate about '92 vs '09, ad nauseam. I suppose we'll see how the season plays out. I'm loving what I'm seeing so far.
