If it pans out. ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that Rolando plans to stick around his senior year. HUGE if it actually pans out. Gonna be tough to say no to millions... well, delay millions.

Minutes after telling an ESPN reporter that he planned to be back for his senior season, Alabama's All-American junior linebacker Rolando McClain hedged into saying, "I haven't even thought about it, really." "That's not something I really worry about," McClain said. "I've got to get through this season, and when that comes, I'll sit down with Coach Saban and my family. If he thinks it's best for me to go out, all right. But if not, OK. Right now, I'm focused on trying to get better for my team and making my team better so we can win an SEC championship."

I wouldnt be surprised to start seeing talented guys like Rolando stick around for their senior year in an attempt to up there already good draft status.

Cody did the samething.

Since a selection here and there can mean a difference in millions, I think if you are a stud that feels he has room to develop, then I dont believe you need to think to deeply on staying or going.

There's a reason we said "IF".

I'll bet my Dukes of Hazzard lunch box (with thermos!) that he leaves. He's got no more developing to do

Last year, about this time, you couldn't convince me Brandon Spikes would stick around for another year. His decision wasn't based on money or draft status, but enjoying one more year of college life.

As much as I'd love to believe he stays, I think in the end Coach tells him to go. There is no denying the thought of him sticking around is a pleasant one—what a linebacking corps!

i got to believe Rolando's likely departure after this season was a selling point to our outstanding incoming LB class this year. as someone else said, he'll be physically ready after this season. given Saban's heaping of praise regarding Ro's football smarts, combined with his physique, he's gone. the only thing is if he wants to spend his senior season learning a different position. i really don't see him as a MLB in the NFL. but who knows.

At some point we'll have one that does this same thing (actually Antoine Caldwell and Shaun Alexander come to mind). It may be Ro; it may be someone else. We'll have a player that wants another chance at a title and/or wants to soak in one more year of the college experience. Hope it's Ro! Then again if he and the team get a title this year I'd gladly let him go.
