🏈 Best Iron Bowl

2008 Iron Bowl. Bama crushed auburn, shut them out and ended the streak. Was at that game and I enjoyed singing Rammer Jammer at the end. I stayed for a while after the game was over and just soaked it all in, enjoying every moment.

That's one of my favorites I've attended as well, but my all time winner was sitting in Legion Field watching Tiffin nail that 52 yarder for the win. I've never seen a more emotional fourth quarter and spectacular finish.

shaun alexander comeback in maybe 1998 or 99 where we were down 17-0 and came back to win i think 31-17. great game.

I think the game you're talking about is '98 but I remember '99 even more. Shaun had a bad ankle but didn't wanna miss his last Iron Bowl. Neither he or any on the offense could do ANYTHING in the first half and I think we were down 14-6 or 14-3 at the half. Shaun comes back and EXPLODES in the 2nd half, ends up with almost 200 yards rushing and 3 TDs (all in the second half) and he broke the career rushing record that night too. I remember him getting the last few carries to get it and after every run he would get up and limp back to the huddle. One of the many reasons I would get so pissed when I would hear people on TV when he was in the NFL refer to him as "soft" or "no heart."

The drive in '09 was pretty special too and Andrew Zow's performance in 2001 is probably up there as one of the all time bests along with Trent's in '11. Can't forget the drive in '96 or Langham's pick in '92 either.

I think it was the 1984 Wrong way Bo game. It was the best Iron bowl I remember because on 4th and goal Bo Jackson ran to the left and missed his getting the ball instead of the right and Bama held them. Bama was the underdog that year by 1 point.

Agreed. And it is the ONLY Iron Bowl I saw in person. Don't think it will ever be topped.
